Chapter 435 - Ivan: Your Daddy Dumbledore!

"I'll be damned if I'll be surprised!" Ivan yelled, slamming his hands on the table.

He had gone through all this trouble just to throw the blame on Dumbledore and be left to rot in the background, only to have it thrown back at him!

As for how Dumbledore knew about what had happened here, Ivan speculated that it had something to do with the Time-Turner.

With the Time-Turner in his possession, he could not even tell when the letter was from Dumbledore…

How much did they know?

Ivan, however, was not at all impressed by Dumbledore's letter.

After all the hard work he had put in over the past few years, Dumbledore ended up getting nothing but bonus points.

It would have been better if Dumbledore had given him Fawkes, the phoenix, or given him a Philosopher's Stone.

Ivan sighed, then grabbed the bottle off the table and opened it.

"This is…Dumbledore's beard?" Ivan asked, picking out a white hair and examining it.

Dumbledore most likely sent this to facilitate his use of Polyjuice Potion.

However, it seemed that the old principal was not omniscient. He had miscalculated this time. He did not even need the Polyjuice Potion to transform into his appearance…

Ivan rubbed his chin as a thought struck him.

It was no wonder that he felt that Dumbledore was acting strangely. It turned out that he was disguised by the bloodline magic Boggart in the future.

Wait, if I were Dumbledore, wouldn't I be able to score points?

Ivan realised this at once, and although he had no idea what the surprise Dumbledore was referring to was, he could have given himself a bonus of hundreds or thousands of points!

If that were the case, his GPA would still be climbing…

In addition, the phoenix was now his!

Ivan's head snapped around to look at Fawkes, who was napping on the olive branch. He had been trying to get his hands on the phoenix's blood, but Dumbledore had been too slow to do so.

And now Dumbledore has delivered the phoenix to his doorstep…

Fawkes, who had been brushing his golden-red feathers with his beak, seemed to sense that Ivan was looking at him strangely, and his hair stood on end.

Ivan shook his head in frustration. The phoenix had a temper. He would have to think this through.

"But what should we do about Sirius?"

Ivan was more troubled by this than by the benefits of being Headmaster.

The meaning of Dumbledore's note to him was clear: it implied that he could simply write a letter to the Ministry of Magic and convince them to reopen the case.

However, no matter how fast the court moved, it was impossible for them to go to trial tomorrow.

The Ministry was bound to hear about it, so he had to find a way to put pressure on them to prevent them from trying anything clandestine.

The more Ivan thought about it, the more troubled he became, as Dumbledore was too big-hearted to leave Sirius's rehabilitation to Ivan.

What could possibly be more important than this?

Ivan thought about this worriedly, but then shook his head. As the most powerful wizard in the wizarding world, Dumbledore was unlikely to have any problems.

As Ivan considered his options, he gathered the letters on the table and left the Headmaster's office for the Great Hall.

During this time, the professors of each subject had followed orders and summoned the young wizards of the four academies to the Great Hall.

For a time, the place was very lively, with students all talking about what had happened, and everyone was relieved to hear that Headmaster Dumbledore had summoned them.

When Sirius infiltrated Gryffindor's dormitory a few days ago, the Dementors went on a rampage, and Dumbledore, the mainstay of the household, did not return.

Now that they knew the Headmaster had returned, they could finally relax…

Ivan, who had entered the Great Hall, felt a great deal of pressure when he heard these comments. He was the only one at Hogwarts who knew that Dumbledore was actually a fake!

"Hales, over here!"

George and Fred were waving at him from the Gryffindor table. When Ivan approached them, they eagerly approached him and questioned him.

'Is it true that Sirius was caught?'

"What makes you think that?" Yvonne asked, surprised.

"Because many professors have been seen heading in the same direction and are now returning together, we suspect that they must be after Sirius!" George exclaimed.

I'm sorry, but they didn't go to arrest anyone. They were caught!

Ivan shook his head with an odd look on his face, refusing to answer their questions, and instead refusing to listen to what Professor Dumbledore had to say later.

George and Fred gave up when Ivan refused to talk about it.

Before long, Dumbledore, who was speaking to the professors on the stage, stepped forward and pointed his wand at his throat.

"Silence!"

His loud voice echoed throughout the Great Hall, attracting the attention of the young wizards below.

Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued.

"I'm sure you've all read the Ministry's notice about the fugitive from Azkaban, Black, but I think you may not know everything! It all starts with the Wizarding War over a decade ago…"

Dumbledore's sudden change of tone surprised the young wizards, who soon became absorbed in the story he was telling.

When they learned that Harry's parents were being hunted for resisting the Dark Lord, the young wizards of the four Houses discussed the matter with worried expressions.

It was not until Dumbledore said that the Jameses had used a powerful spell to secure the house that everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"Professor, in that case, how did Harry's parents die?" several bold young Gryffindor wizards ventured to ask.

Others cast puzzled looks, as it was common knowledge in the wizarding world that Harry's parents had been killed by You-Know-Who.

How did they die, if the spell was as powerful as Dumbledore claimed, and was able to hide them from sight?

"Because someone betrayed us and told Voldemort where James was hiding!" Dumbledore said without hesitation.
