Harry looked inside. The bag was bulging, the rope used to bind it was lying on the floor, and the opening was wide open. It was pitch-black inside…
"Did you just cast a spell to ward off the Dementor? How did you do that? I don't think that's the power of the Patronus Charm, is it?" Harry asked curiously, remembering how the Dementor had let go of him and fled in terror.
I just don't know what kind of magic Ivan used to make such an evil creature panic…
"No, I didn't actually do anything. The Dementor ran away when it saw me…" Ivan shrugged helplessly.
Harry was dubious. Weren't Dementors supposed to be chaotic and evil? Were they supposed to be scared and run away?
Harry could hardly imagine…
"Those Dementors are also intelligent creatures, so of course they're afraid of being stronger than they are!" Ivan explained, seeing the doubt in Harry's eyes.
"If you fully master the Patronus Charm, you will find that Dementors are not difficult to deal with. For example… what you just did was very good…"
"But I was almost killed by a Dementor…" Harry said sullenly, looking ashamed.
"Well, at least you didn't pass out again, did you? That's a big improvement! You can't expect to learn a high-level charm like that after just one or two tries, can you?" Yvonne tried to reassure him.
Alerted by Ivan, Harry noticed this and his low spirits lifted.
The worst thing that happened to him during the school year was that every time he encountered a Dementor, he would fall into a humiliating coma, which caused Gryffindor to lose the match.
This time, he did not manage to defeat the Dementor, but at least he managed to hold on without losing consciousness.
Harry felt that if he tried a few more times, he might be able to defeat this monster!
With this thought in mind, Harry pulled himself together, propped himself up, and got to his feet.
"Are you sure you don't want to take a break?" Yvonne asked worriedly.
"No, I'm fine!" Harry shook his head and picked up his wand, assuming a fighting stance.
Ivan raised his eyebrows, but did not try to persuade him otherwise. He lifted his wand and pointed it at the opening of the sack. Wisps of white mist condensed into a ball and flew there, intending to cast a spell to force the Dementors out of the sack.
Harry kept his eyes fixed on the ball of light, his wand held ready to strike.
However, when the ball of light entered the sack and the Dementor did not come out, Harry looked at Ivan strangely.
Ivan was equally confused. He tried again, using the Patronus Charm to create an even more powerful ball of white mist, but still could not force the Dementors out.
"Um… there might have been an accident. Hold on!"
Ivan said this awkwardly, then hurried forward and lifted the sack, turning it over and shaking it violently.
'Come on out!'
Unfortunately, the Dementor seemed to stick to the sack, and Ivan was unable to shake it off.
Harry took in the scene with a strange look on his face. Was it really a Dementor? Why was he afraid of it?
Ivan, on the other hand, was stumped after trying and failing to find a solution.
While he could destroy the vessel in which the Dementor resided and prevent it from escaping, he had spent a great deal of time creating it, and once destroyed, there would be nothing left to trap the Dementor.
Ivan remembered that Dementors could understand wizards, and tentatively poked his wand into the sack.
"Come out! I know you can understand what I'm saying! We don't mean any harm. We just want you to help us. There's a young wizard here who wants to learn the Patronus Charm and needs your cooperation…"
The Dementor couldn't have come out of the sack, of course. It didn't believe Ivan, and it certainly couldn't have helped a wizard learn to restrain his or her magic.
Seeing that this method was ineffective, Ivan threatened to destroy the Dementor if it disagreed with him, and would consider letting it go if it did.
Harry was at a loss as to how to deal with Ivan, who was blackmailing and threatening the Dementors. His impression of the Dementors had been completely destroyed in just a few minutes.
Harry, however, had his doubts about Ivan's efforts. Could Dementors really communicate normally with wizards?
The Dementors, threatened by Ivan, cautiously poked their heads out of their burlap sacks and floated out.
Its disgusting, rotting body looked much more incorporeal than before, and there were several large holes in its tattered cloak, which Harry assumed were caused by the two white glowing balls.
As a result, the Dementor did not appear to be terrifying in general, but seemed rather pitiful…
"Well, Harry, I've got a deal with this Dementor, and it's happy to help you!" said Ivan, who was quite satisfied with the Dementor's general attitude.
Harry, on the other hand, felt that Mr Dementor was probably not as happy as Ivan made him out to be…
Under Ivan's command, the two sides resumed their positions.
The difference was that the atmosphere was quite different from before, with Harry trying to get a grip on his wand and pull himself together, but unable to do so, and even wanting to laugh at Ivan's reprimand.
The Dementor emerged from the sack and, at Ivan's repeated urging, floated unhappily towards Harry, pretending to be hunting.
As they drew closer, the smell of food caused the Dementor to stir. Unfortunately, Ivan was watching, and the Dementor did not dare move.
Despite the Dementors' best efforts to hold back their powers, Harry was inevitably affected, and the ability to spread fear, like a Dementor's gift, seemed impossible to turn off.
"Expecto Patronus!" Harry gritted his teeth and cast the spell over and over again, despite the painful memories that were flooding into his mind.
