Ivan's attention was immediately drawn to it. Since there was a prompt at this time, it was likely related to his time travel, so he opened the system bar to check.
[Legendary Title: Ouroboros
Legend: You used the power of the Time-Turner to travel back in time, filling in the blanks of history and directing the results in the desired direction.
Legend Level: 1
Special Reward: Stabilise the Space-Time Node (already issued in advance)
Remarks: Are you playing with time, or is time playing with you?
"An Ouroboros?" Ivan muttered to himself as he read the legend.
An Ouroboros is a snake that devours the tail of a creature, and then grows and is devoured by the snake.
This was an apt description of his recent experiences.
If the day he came home from his first year of school was one point in time, and the day when he used the Time-Turner was another, then the two were indeed moving in a continuous loop…
After all, without his future self going back three months to set up the scene, he would not have seen "Althea" die, and would not have obtained the Time-Turner and started planning to go back three months to do all of this, so that his past self could see "Althea" dying to get the Time-Turner and plan how to set up the scene…
Just thinking about it gave Ivan a headache. He immediately felt that he had to be more cautious when using the Time-Turner in the future. It would be best if something like this did not happen again and cause him trouble.
As stated in the note, rather than saying that he had played with time, it would be more accurate to say that he had been fooled by the power of time…
Ivan shook his head and sighed, then returned his attention to the special prize the Legend had given him.
It must be noted that the system had never rewarded anyone with a Legendary title before, so this was obviously an accident.
Stable a time node?
Ivan groaned. The system didn't offer any explanation, but Ivan could guess that the system had something to do with his two-month stay.
Otherwise, he would not have been kicked back into time and space as soon as he brought the hippogriff back.
It was clear that he had finished what he came to do, so there was no point in staying any longer … Hermione remained because there was unfinished business.
"Sir, what's wrong?"
Ivan stood there for a long time, his expression constantly changing, which made Dobby feel strange.
"Ah? Nothing, I was just thinking about something." Ivan was momentarily stunned, but he quickly reacted and said something before sending Dobby off to bed!
When Dobby left, Ivan checked the Marauder's Map, and, as he had expected, Hermione's name reappeared in Hogwarts Castle, near an empty classroom.
Ivan took the nearest secret passage, eager to find out what had happened to him and how Hermione had managed to escape the Dementors after he had been kicked back into the Forbidden Forest.
When Ivan emerged from the passageway, he was greeted by the sight of a worried-looking witch standing in front of the classroom.
"Hermione!" Yvonne greeted her.
"Ivan?!" Hermione was shocked and instinctively hid her right hand behind her back.
"Well… you're in your normal time, aren't you?" Yvonne hesitated, thinking Hermione's reaction was odd.
After the earlier blunder, Ivan became paranoid, suspecting that the witch in front of him might have returned from another time.
"Yes!" Hermione nodded unhappily.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" Yvonne asked worriedly.
"It's…it's…it's cracked!" Hermione stammered, pursing her lips. She then brought her right hand from behind her back and opened it.
Ivan could clearly see a long, thin golden chain in Hermione's white palm, and a small golden hourglass hanging from it.
Compared to before, the hourglass was covered in tiny cracks, and although the sand did not leak out, it looked as if it might burst at any moment.
"When was it damaged?" Yvonne asked, her brow furrowing as the enormity of the situation sank in.
"Just now!" Hermione pursed her lips in annoyance, thinking it was all her fault.
When she returned to normal time, the Time-Turner was still working fine, but she remembered that she had to deliver a note to her, so she used it again and returned to a few days ago.
As such, Hermione felt it would not have been damaged if she had not considered the limits of the Time-Turner.
"What do we do now? Do you have a way to fix it?" Hermione asked Ivan, looking flustered and hopeful.
Yvonne thought for a moment, then took the Time-Turner from Hermione's hand, opened the System's Magical Items tab, and checked the status of the Time-Turner.
[Magical Item: Time-Turner
Magic: Weak (Strong)
Special State: Damaged
Effect: For every turn of the needle, the time is rewound by one hour, and the risk increases by one point (unavailable).
Description: This is an exquisite magical artefact, possessing the power to affect time, but due to repeated and intense use it is beyond its ability to withstand.
Remarks: It thought it had had enough and split open!'
Ivan had a headache when he noticed the damaged words on the special status. He looked at the instructions and thought of the special reward given by the legendary title.
The Time-Turner's own power apparently could not have kept him and Hermione in that time and place for so long, and only managed to do so for a few months due to the influence of the system.
Now that the Legend Event had been completed and the effects of the system had disappeared, the Time-Turner naturally could not withstand it and broke!
"Well? Can it be fixed?" Hermione looked at Ivan apprehensively.
"No! It's completely broken, and there's nothing I can do about it…" Ivan shook his head in frustration. He had thought about studying the Time-Turner when he first got it.
However, the power of time was too profound, and he had no idea where to start, let alone repair it…
