Chapter 345 - If You Can Rob, Why Buy?

In their previous exchange, Walker had been able to identify the werewolf, as his extraordinary regenerative abilities and life force could not be faked.

It was for this reason that Walker was baffled. He considered Ivan's invention of the Wolfsbane Potion, as well as his promotion of the wizarding community's elimination of discrimination against werewolves in the Daily Prophet, a "savior" for all werewolves.

It's one thing for these people to be ungrateful, but why should they bite the hand that feeds them and attack Ivan's magical shop…

When Walker questioned the black-robed wizard, he failed to notice that their fight had shattered a nearby glass dome.

A long, blood-stained noose fell to the ground near his feet.

Unmanned, the noose slithered up like a snake, and before Walker could react, it was wrapped around his neck.

The situation took a sudden turn for the worse, and Walker's face turned ashen. He let go of the black-robed wizard and grabbed at the noose around his neck, trying to pull it off.

However, the noose was so tight that even though Walker was quite strong in his werewolf form, he could do nothing about it.

The black-robed wizard took advantage of the situation and kicked Walker into a corner. He quickly stood up and picked up his wand before turning back to Walker.

"Didn't you just ask me why I attacked that place? For the Wolfsbane Potion, of course!"

Trapped and unable to speak, Walker stared at the black-robed wizard in confusion.

Wolfsbane Potion? He recalled that Ivan had never stopped other werewolf wizards from buying it, and had ordered it at a relatively low price, considering the particularity of their community.

As long as you work hard, you can afford a bottle of potion every month…

"If you could rob them, why would you buy them?" the black-robed wizard asked disdainfully, reading Walker's childish thoughts.

Ten Galleons a month was not a small amount. It would be better to find a way to brew the recipe for the Wolf Poison Potion and even make a fortune from the other werewolves!

Walker did not expect his fellow werewolf to say such a thing. He was furious, but there was nothing he could do except stare, unable to move.

Not wanting to waste any more time, the black-robed wizard aimed his wand at Walker.

In fact, he was very interested in how Walker was able to freely transform into a werewolf, as he believed that only the werewolf leader, Fenrir Greyback, could do so without the full moon.

However, the situation was not good. The sounds of fighting had stopped elsewhere, and he knew what the situation was like.

Burke had been out of the running ever since Alicia and the others showed up, and he would have run if the werewolf brat hadn't been so insistent.

After spitting, the black-robed wizard pointed at Walker and chanted.

"Farewell, boy…Avada Kedavra!"

A dark green light flickered at the tip of the wand, and Walker's pupils contracted as he realised that the protective ring Ivan had given him was no match for the Killing Curse.

At the same time, a young female voice sounded.

"Stupefy!"

A scarlet light struck the black-robed wizard in the back, stunning him and causing the green light of the Killing Curse to deviate, brushing past Walker and hitting the ground, creating a crater…

A cold sweat broke out on Walker's forehead, and he looked around with large, wolfish eyes, trying to see who had saved him. Most importantly, he needed someone to remove the offending noose from around his neck.

From a dark corner, a small, brown-haired witch appeared out of thin air.

After putting away the Cloak of Invisibility, Hermione looked at Walker, who had transformed into his werewolf form, with some fear, but forced calm.

"How should I help you?"

Walker pointed to the noose around his neck, unable to speak for it was restrained.

Hermione tried to cast a spell to cut the rope on the floor with her Shadowless Blade, believing that all she had to do was destroy the object and Walker would be saved.

Unfortunately, magical objects were not so easy to destroy, and even the Traceless Magic did not have much of an effect.

Walker's eyes rolled back in his head, and just as he was about to lose consciousness, a strange flame fell on the rope and burned it in half.

As his grip loosened, Walker yanked the noose from his neck and threw it to the ground, where it caught fire and burned the magical object to ash.

Hermione looked behind her. Naturally, she was not the one who had released the strange flame.

Ivan appeared out of the darkness and helped Walker to his feet, patting him on the shoulder as he spoke.

"Are you all right, Walker?"

"Thank goodness Miss Granger saved my life!" A look of fear appeared on Walker's face. He had almost been killed by the black-robed wizard.

Ivan then turned to the little witch and said rather helplessly, "Hermione, why are you here? Didn't I tell you to wait outside in your Invisibility Cloak?"

The attack on Borgin and Burkes was so dangerous that Ivan kept Hermione out of it.

At the same time, Ivan was a little worried about leaving her alone in the mansion, so he decided to let her stay outside.

"I didn't think you'd come in until the fight was over," Hermione said, sticking her tongue out. She had been left alone to listen to the explosions and screams, and had been terrified that Ivan and the others would be in trouble.

When she noticed that the commotion in Borgin and Burkes had died down, Hermione put on her Invisibility Cloak and went to check on the situation.

Even though Walker had transformed into a werewolf by then, when Ivan told her that a fellow in a black wizard's robe was an enemy, Hermione knocked him out cold.

Yvonne was horrified when Hermione told her what had happened, and would have killed Walker if Hermione hadn't arrived.

"It's all thanks to you, Hermione!" said Ivan gratefully.

"I'm glad I could help…" Hermione shook her head.

Walker slowly returned to his human form, although he seemed to be in low spirits. Ivan thought he was upset about losing the battle to the Dark Wizard and nearly died, so he tried to comfort him.

Those Dark Wizards were not weak to begin with, and coupled with the fact that this place was full of dangerous Dark Magic items, it was normal for them to lose if they were careless…
