When Doggett first heard Ivan mention that the attackers had been wiped out, he thought it was a joint effort between Isiah and Ivan.
After all, from Ivan's earlier description, there were quite a few of them, all outlaws.
With that in mind, Doggett shot a suspicious glance at Alicia, wanting to be sure.
Ethia nodded reluctantly. "That's right. He knocked me out so he could do something so dangerous alone…"
Doggett was thoroughly convinced, and when he looked at Ivan again, he had a strange, almost absurd expression on his face.
Flan and the others were equally shocked. When Walker returned, he told them about the devastation at the wizarding shop.
There were at least eight or nine dead Dark Wizards, all of them dead in horrible fashion, and it was hard to imagine that a young wizard like Ivan could have been responsible for their deaths… which was a bit much…
Ivan shook his head to himself at the looks of astonishment.
He was well aware that he was able to kill the ten black-robed wizards who invaded the shop in large part due to the arrogance of their leader, Adrian, who split up to search the shop.
Ivan, however, did not attempt to explain himself, as he needed to give Alicia and the others an overview of his abilities, so that they would agree to his risky plan.
In the end, after much persuasion from Ivan, Isiah agreed, although he was not allowed to go too deep, and was required to carry a magical communication device with him to keep him posted.
The operation was delayed until several hours later, when Ivan would have to wait for the Augmenting Charms to return to working order.
Ivan had the werewolf wizards keep watch on Borgin and Burkes in case Burke tried anything funny.
He and Alicia went home, and Ivan remembered that there were many useful magical tools in the basement that they could use to minimize casualties!
"As it happens, I have to go back and get some things!" Dagget said, suddenly remembering something.
"Headmaster Dougett! Well…" Ivan opened his mouth, his expression torn as he tried to tell Dougett that he did not have to go back,
Because the house had blown up! It had been blown up so thoroughly that it could not be fixed!
However, before Ivan could finish his sentence, Doggett Disapparated and disappeared, leaving behind only a few words.
"Don't worry about me. I'll meet you there!"
No… I was worried you couldn't take the shock!
Ivan sighed as Doggett used Apparition to leave.
Looks like I'll have to wait until Dougut gets back…
Ivan shook his head with a headache and turned to Alicia. "Mom… let's not delay. Let's go back early!"
Alicia nodded with a strange expression on her face. She also knew what was going on, and she could only hope that Doggett would calm down a little!
Meanwhile,
Back at home, Dagget stared at the ruins, wondering if he had come to the wrong place…
That's not right… Where's my house?!
What a big house I have!
Dawgt was shaking with rage. Who could have been so vile as to blow up his house?
He waved his wand with all his might to release the Restoration Charm. Under the influence of magic, it was as if time had reversed. The stone bricks and wood on the ground quickly returned to their original positions, and soon the outline of the mansion could be seen.
However, the next moment, the house that had been repaired collapsed!
Doggett was panting with exhaustion. The house had been destroyed too thoroughly for his magic to repair alone!
Doggett gave up on the idea of restoring the mansion, and tried to think of some bastard who might have done such a thing.
It didn't take long for Doggett to get an idea, and he roared through gritted teeth.
"Boke!!"
The old bastard must have hired someone to do it!
Dougherty automatically conjured up the story.
Everyone in Knockturn Alley knew that he had a good relationship with Alicia, and if they wanted to deal with her, they would have to do it with him.
So Burke must have sent someone to deal with him at the same time he attacked the shop!
Dawg was horrified at the thought.
He was too drunk to defend himself from the attack, and would have died in his sleep if Ivan hadn't pulled him out of the mansion.
"No wonder… I was there when I woke up!" Dagget had figured everything out and was grateful to Ivan.
He felt that Ivan must have realised this after killing all the intruders in the wizarding shop and was worried about his safety, so he rushed to his mansion to move him.
When Burke's men couldn't find him, they used his house as an outlet for their anger!
Well… that must be it!
"Darn it! It's the drinking that's causing all this trouble!" said Doggett, feeling a pang of regret.
To Doggett's relief, Ivan seemed to care about him.
Even when they noticed the Dark Mark on his left wrist, they did not leave him there to die. Instead, they took him to a safe place and questioned him.
His years of hard work were not in vain!
For a moment, Doggett was touched, but then he saw the broken bottles and boxes of wine in the ruins, and his heart ached. He wanted to rush into Borgin and Burkes and tear that bastard apart!
"I bought it yesterday! It's all gone now!"
…
Meanwhile, Ivan and Alicia return to the Wizarding Shop.
The place had changed a lot since the last time they visited. The gaping holes had been repaired, and the blood and bodies on the floor had been cleaned up.
Other than the shelves being empty, this was little different from before the attack.
Ivan wasn't surprised, either; he certainly knew that this was the result of his own Restorative Charm.
He also remembered that in the past, he could not find Fran and the others at this time and had used up too much magic, so he hid in an abandoned house.
Only tonight, of course!
Dobby would begin watching the wizarding shop tomorrow afternoon, and would surely be seen when he returned.
With that in mind, Ivan pulled open the hidden trapdoor and went into the basement, where he placed several protective rings and modified telescopic ears in the pockets of his wizard robes.
Ivan then turned to look at Alicia and saw that she was holding a furry ball in her hand.
"Mom… what are you doing with that?"
