Chapter 332 - Eleven Years Without a Duel

Hermione looked at Doggart in surprise.

She knew exactly what the Death Eaters represented. They were followers and minions of You-Know-Who, a group of evil and insane people!

Ethia was frowning as well.

Doggett's face fell, and he looked at Ivan in bewilderment, wondering how Ivan knew about this.

"I found the Death Eaters' proprietary Dark Mark on your left wrist, so I'm curious…" Ivan began casually, his eyes glued to Dougett's every move.

Doggett covered his left wrist with his hand, his face contorted with anger.

"That's all in the past. I'm not a Death Eater anymore… and the Dark Lord's been dead a long time, hasn't he?"

"You-Know-Who didn't die! I saw him at Hogwarts…" Ivan ended Doggett's fantasy, pausing before speaking again. "What if You-Know-Who were to return one day? What would you do if you had to gather your former men?"

"No… no way, he couldn't have come back… no way!" Doggett spat the words out.

"You don't know that for sure! You'd better think about it right now…" Yvonne kept pressing.

"That's enough!" Dagget snapped, cutting Ivan off. "It doesn't matter if I'm a Death Eater or not, does it? This is not the time or place for this!"

"But I think it's important! After all, the situation is special and I have to be careful…" Ivan's words were sharp. He needed to understand Dougett's position!

After all, he had previously sabotaged Voldemort's resurrection plan and destroyed two Horcruxes, so his relationship with Voldemort was unlikely to improve.

Unless he had destroyed all of Voldemort's Horcruxes, Doggett would remain a threat as a Death Eater!

Ivan was not comfortable with such a threat around Alicia!

"Do you suspect me of colluding with Burke to orchestrate this attack?" asked Doggett, understanding the hidden meaning behind Ivan's words and becoming furious.

Ivan's eyes bored into Doggett's, and he refused to back down. "Someone once told me that you were part of the resistance, until the Death Eaters caught you in a battle…

You were tortured, and in a matter of days, you betrayed your comrades and joined Voldemort as a Death Eater!"

"Why? Because the man promised you power and fame?" Ivan asked sarcastically.

"Who the hell told you that!" Douget roared. He reached out to grab Ivan's shoulder, but a blast of air knocked him back against the wall, and he dropped his wand.

Ivan took a few steps forward and picked up Doggett's wand, then tried to cast a spell to tie up Dagget to prevent him from attacking.

"Ivan!"

At that moment, Isiah grabbed Ivan's arm and shook her head at him, then turned to Dougett and apologized.

"I'm sorry…Dugart, Ivan meant no harm. Please forgive him for being so extreme…"

Ivan looked at Alicia in surprise, but said nothing. He knew very little about Doggart.

Apart from a few moments of contact and not-so-impressive impressions, the stories that come out of Dean Bohan's mouth tend to be distorted.

As Isiah had known Doggett for over a decade, she must have known him well enough not to interfere.

Alicia took the wand that Ivan had confiscated and handed it to him.

"Now that you mention it, we've known each other for a long time, and you've never mentioned the past to me… would you tell me about it, if you could?"

"I'm sure you had nothing to do with it, but I have a grudge against the Death Eaters, and if you don't make it clear, I think our partnership will end here…"

Doggett took the wand, calmed down, and sat down, looking defeated. He was silent for a while, then turned to Ivan and spoke hoarsely.

"My father told you these things, didn't he?"

Yvonne nodded hesitantly.

"I don't know exactly what he told you, but I don't think it was anything good…" Dougett laughed at himself, then said sarcastically.

"He was always like that, old-fashioned, opinionated, unreasonable, opinionated, a self-righteous lunatic who couldn't stand anyone going against his wishes…"

Yvonne listened in silence, and Dagget cursed for a while, then stopped, took a breath, and began to tell the story with a sigh.

"It was thirteen years ago, during the Wizarding War. If we count the time since Voldemort began gathering Death Eaters and rioting, then the war has been going on for eleven years!

At first, the Ministry of Magic and our fellow rebels organised several attacks in an attempt to quell the Death Eaters' rioting.

The Death Eaters were too weak to be a match for the Aurors.

However, every time Voldemort appeared on the battlefield, he was able to instantly reverse the situation and defeat the Aurors. His magic was extremely powerful, and no matter how many people there were, they were no match for him!

Once the battle was over, Lord Voldemort brutally tortured and killed the prisoners who refused to surrender and ordered the Death Eaters to capture and kill their families and friends!

For the rest of them, Voldemort's power was all-consuming, forcing them to join the ranks of the Death Eaters, or even manipulating them with the Imperius Curse… and then staging an even greater destruction and slaughter in retaliation!

Voldemort's brutal methods caused more and more people to surrender under pressure, and his influence grew so great that he was able to recruit a large number of dark creatures, so much so that even the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic dared not stop the Death Eaters…"

Ivan listened to Doggett's account of the events of the last Wizarding War.

"What about Professor Dumbledore? Where is he? Isn't he the one You-Know-Who fears the most?" Hermione asked, unable to contain her curiosity.

The Death Eaters' recklessness was largely due to Lord Voldemort's ungodly strength.

However, as far as she knew, Professor Dumbledore was the most powerful wizard in the wizarding world!

"I'd like to know that, too!" hissed Doggett.

"We have all been waiting since the beginning of the war! Waiting for Dumbledore to step in and either defeat or kill Voldemort and end the war, as he did Grindelwald!"

"But no…we waited eleven years! Eleven years!"
