Chapter 272 - Catching Sirius Black (1)

The black dog… or rather, Sirius realised that something was wrong with the grey owl.

Sirius, who had been on the run like a frightened bird, was instantly on his guard. As an Animagus Transfiguration, he would not underestimate any animal that acted strangely…

The black dog bared its teeth and growled at Ivan, but it did not move.

Because Harry was there, he wasn't sure if the creature would harm his godson.

However, it seemed to Harry that the black dog was ready to pounce on him at any moment, and he frantically pulled out his wand and pointed it at it, thinking about all the magic he had learned.

Sirius realised this and cursed under his breath, then gritted his teeth and ran off, gambling that the other Animagus Transfiguration was after him and that he meant Harry no harm.

After running for a while, Sirius turned his head and saw that the owl had caught up with him. Sirius was relieved for Harry, but he also knew that he was in danger.

Ivan, in his owl form, quickly followed. With a high-altitude view, he was not worried about losing them. Besides, he was not alone…

The black dog sped along at an alarming speed, veering further and further down the alley. Suddenly, a house-elf appeared out of thin air at the end of the alley, blocking his path.

"Stop it, dog!" Dobby screamed as he reached out with his right hand and a blinding red light shot from his index finger.

The black dog's pupils contracted. He had not expected a house-elf to be part of the pursuit, and it was too late to turn.

He leapt up and slammed his foot against the wall of the alley, then twisted his body to avoid another of Dobby's charms. He used the momentum to jump over the top of the wall, which was over two meters high, and into another alley.

Not a bad reaction!

Ivan, watching from high above, thought to himself.

It seemed that this fighter was quite qualified!

Ivan sped up and dived, apparently unable to watch any further.

Sirius also noticed Ivan's approach, and after running a few steps, he transformed back into his human form and threw the bin at Ivan.

Ivan flapped his wings and accelerated upwards, dodging the flying rubbish and then accelerating towards his opponent.

Sirius was unable to perform any decent attacks without his wand, not to mention that he had not eaten for a long time, and his stamina was limited.

Dobby had already used Disapparated to get behind him, blocking his escape route.

Sirius rolled away, knowing full well that he would not be able to escape today. His eyes were filled with madness, and he was determined to fight to the death.

However, Ivan did not give him the chance to do so, and in his Animagus form, he used the Eye of the Bloodline Magical Basilisk!

A vertical orange pupil appeared in the eye socket of an owl. Sirius, who was looking at him, was instantly petrified and fell to the ground.

After a period of frenzied practice, Ivan was able to master this blood magic, and was able to control the power of the snake's eyes well enough that he did not have to worry about Sirius being killed by his glare.

This special blood magic could be used with just two eyes, and combined with the concealment of the Animagus, it was enough to cause an enemy to lose their ability to resist unknowingly.

The grey-white owl slowly landed on the ground and transformed into Ivan in an instant.

"Dobby, take him and let's go back."

Dobby grabbed Sirius's arm and looked at Ivan in awe. He had only seen Ivan's transformed owl flap its wings a few times before Sirius, who had been full of life, collapsed as if he had been petrified.

It was horrible …

Dobby shook his head to get rid of the thought, then grabbed Ivan's arm and Disapparated.

Back at the station in Knockturn Alley, Ivan found a bottle of dark potion in his room.

This was a special potion brewed from Mandrake Grass, which could be used to remove the petrification effects of the snake's eyes. After obtaining the bloodline magic of the snake's eyes, Ivan brewed some and kept them with him for emergencies.

Ivan forced Sirius to drink the potion, then put the potion away and returned to the table to work on the improved data, waiting for Sirius to wake up.

As he turned, Sirius's eyes flew open and he leapt into the air with lightning speed!

Then, with stiff hands and feet, he fell to the ground…

Alarmed, Dobby looked at Sirius warily, his right index finger already glowing with magic, waiting for Sirius to make another move and blast him!

Ivan was not surprised. He did not even turn his head.

"Stop struggling. The potion will take some time to completely remove the petrification effect. You can't even stand up now…"

Sirius propped himself up with difficulty and stared at Ivan with a look of disbelief on his face. He had not expected to be caught by an Auror, and had instead fallen on top of this thirteen-year-old boy.

Feeling the heaviness of his limbs and his groggy head, Sirius wisely abandoned the idea of a direct confrontation for the moment, calmly looking around for an opportunity to escape.

It was obviously a run-down house, and although it was immaculately clean, it was easy to see from the lack of furniture and the cracks and holes in the walls.

What caught his attention the most was the balcony, which was filled with lifelike animal statues, most of them common creatures like mice, snakes, and geckos.

Sirius narrowed his eyes, a chill running down his spine as he thought of the orange eyes he had seen before he lost consciousness, and now his own rigid body.

They were probably not statues, but living creatures, all of whom had been struck by a special Petrification spell that could be cast by looking at each other.

Ignoring Sirius's efforts, Ivan continued to improve the potion, knowing that nothing he could do would help if he failed.

Ivan tentatively added the black silk powder to the cauldron, and soon black smoke was billowing out.

Failed again …

Irritated, Ivan resisted the urge to blow up the cauldron and wrote down the data on a piece of paper.

"Sirius Black?"

"It's me…" Sirius grinned fiercely.
