At the same time, the system prompt sounded in Ivan's head.
Ivan's expression didn't change, and he kept smiling as he checked.
As he had expected, there was some new information in the achievement column.
However, to Ivan's surprise, he achieved two achievements in a row: Werewolf Savior and Merlin Knight!
The former was due to his "re-development" of the Wolfsbane Potion, which he sold at a low price, much to the gratitude of most werewolf wizards, and the latter was due to his achievement of receiving a Level 2 Order of Merlin.
His Legendary value also increased by two points!
Ivan was delighted. One more legend and he would be ready for his third blood fusion…
Dumbledore took in Ivan's expression and thought he was pleased to have won the Order of Merlin, and the wizards around him congratulated him.
Ivan spotted an out-of-place figure in the crowd. It was Lucius Malfoy!
Perhaps noticing Ivan's glance, Lucius Malfoy turned to meet Ivan's eyes, and the Serpent Staff in his hand hit the floor hard, causing the house-elf to shiver.
"Professor, why is Lucius Malfoy here? Is he here for my investiture?" Yvonne asked curiously.
Dumbledore shook his head. "No, I invited Mr Malfoy, as we have some business to discuss later."
'About the diary?'
Ivan immediately thought of this. The Horcruxes that Lucius sold him had caused a number of attacks on Hogwarts, causing panic throughout the school and nearly leading to the resurrection of Tom Riddle.
It was clear that Dumbledore was not going to let Lucius off the hook so easily.
Ivan had an idea, and turned to look at Dobby, who was standing next to Lucius, looking upset.
House-elves were highly skilled fighters, comparable to adult wizards.
Not to mention the fact that house-elves cast spells differently than wizards, which allowed them to ignore obstacles and do things that wizards could not, such as performing Transfiguration at Hogwarts.
Ivan lowered his voice and said, "Professor, could you give me the diary? I'd like to return it to Mr Malfoy myself!"
"Very well…" Dumbledore agreed without asking why.
…
The ceremony lasted the rest of the morning, and Ivan's smile froze on his face.
Dumbledore took Tom Riddle's diary, and Ivan borrowed a small white glove from a witch in the Great Hall, which he placed between the pages.
With the diary in hand, Yvonne made her way to the Headmaster's office, where she caught a glimpse of Malfoy, who had just come out of his office.
Lucius Malfoy was visibly upset, as he had not expected the other members of the board to betray him.
Some time ago, they had agreed to remove Dumbledore from office and replace him with someone else.
It had only been a few days, but they had all gone back on their word, and he had been the one to be thrown off the Hogwarts Board.
The more Lucius Malfoy thought about it, the more furious he became, and his cold gaze fell on Dobby as he tried to decide what to do with the house-elf who had broken his plans by acting on his own.
Dobby followed at his feet with his ears down, a fresh footprint in his rags.
Lucius snorted, then turned to see Ivan blocking the other side of the tunnel.
"Mr. Malfoy, please wait!" Ivan said, taking a few steps forward.
"What are you doing here?" Lucius Malfoy did not look pleased.
"Mr. Malfoy, you really gave me a hard time selling it, so I think you'd better keep it for yourself," Ivan teased as he handed him the diary.
"You know, Tom and I used to have a lot of small talk about how you used to keep it in your Obscurus suitcase…"
Lucius Malfoy looked hard at Ivan for a while, and could not help but feel that he had made a mistake in selling him the diary.
He had already learned from Dumbledore and Dobby that the Dark Lord's diary had bewitched the famous new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Lockhart, into causing several attacks on students at Hogwarts.
However, Ivan Harris, who had been holding the diary for a long time, was not affected at all. Instead, he became famous in school for solving the attack, and today, he successfully obtained a Second-Class Merlin's Medal!
It was clear that Ivan was not as simple as he first appeared!
Lucius Malfoy's face was grim as he took the diary from Ivan and tossed it casually to Dobby.
The diary, which had a large hole in it, smashed into Dobby's head, and the pages flew open. A small white glove fell out and dangled from Dobby's long nose.
The frustrated house-elf's round eyes widened, and she raised her white gloves to her nose with trembling hands and screamed.
"The Master gave Dobby a glove?"
"Dobby is free!" Dobby exclaimed, shivering with excitement.
Lucius was about to leave when he heard Dobby's words. He turned around and stared at Dobby, who was holding a glove up high behind him. Lucius then looked at the diary on the floor and understood what was going on.
"It's you!" Lucius Malfoy shouted, glaring at Ivan. He drew his wand as fast as he could, intending to teach Ivan a lesson.
But Ivan was faster!
"Expelliarmus!"
There was a flash of scarlet, and Lucius was thrown violently back against the wall, his wand spinning in the air as it fell into Ivan's hand.
"I want you to calm down, Mr. Malfoy," Ivan continued, throwing Lucius's wand back and pointing to the diary.
"This is a small punishment for your previous actions. After all, you were planning to use this to influence me, weren't you?"
"You!" Lucius Malfoy scrambled to his feet and retrieved his wand. He glared coldly at Ivan, but dared not move.
Because Dobby was standing next to Ivan, his index finger glowing red…
