Chapter 253 - Increasing Battle

At the same time, Ivan waved his wand.

"Explode!"

The black fog ghost face collided with the orange fireball, and a loud bang rang out in the silent chamber. The pools on both sides of the room rippled, and the flagstones on the ground cracked.

The aftermath of the impact knocked Ivan back several steps…

Tom Riddle stood his ground, unmoved. He waved his wand, and Ivan, who had just regained his balance, felt a gust of wind beside him.

Ivan instinctively dropped to the ground and rolled a few times. When he looked back, he saw that a large hole had been torn in the hard tiles where he had been standing.

A stone statue of a giant serpent, which had been guarding both sides, had come to life and was twisting its massive body towards Ivan.

Ivan's brain screamed with alarm as the animated serpent closed in, its jaws wide enough to swallow him whole.

"The Shadowless Blade!" Ivan did not hesitate to cast his strongest spell.

Under the enhancement of the strengthened runes, the huge invisible blade entered the snake's mouth and sliced the snake in front of it neatly in the middle. The emerald green body of the snake instantly turned back into grayish-white rocks and collapsed, crashing into the pool on both sides and creating a huge splash…

After slicing the snake open, the Traceless Magic did not stop. It flew towards Tom Riddle with extraordinary speed.

Tom Riddle's expression changed drastically. He did not expect Ivan to be able to perform such a terrifying spell. The few magic barriers that he had painstakingly constructed were almost instantly breached. In the end, he only managed to avoid being beheaded before the blade of magic struck him!

Tom Riddle let out a cry of pain as a long, thin wound appeared from his left shoulder to his right leg, nearly bisecting him.

"Shattered!"

As Ivan's voice rang out, another spell struck Tom Riddle, and he was knocked backwards into the rocks like a willow.

Ivan gasped for air. He had only cast a few spells, but he had used all his strength.

Ivan took a few steps forward to help Tom Riddle collect the body, and was surprised to see him standing up again from the rubble.

Tom Riddle no longer had the air of a nobleman. A large hole had been blasted in his body, and the wound caused by the Obscurus was still there.

However, strangely enough, Tom Riddle did not bleed at all. The large hole in his chest was filled with a black mist, and a black diary could be seen lying on top of his heart.

Within a second or two, the gaping hole in Tom Riddle's chest began to heal, or rather, the black mist reformed his body.

Ivan's heart sank. He had used up a quarter of his magic, but it didn't seem to have the desired effect.

"So you didn't come back to life!" Yvonne exclaimed.

Ivan didn't know what Tom Riddle's current state was, but judging from his previous performance, ordinary attacks wouldn't do him much good. The black diary in his chest was his Achilles' heel!

However, it made sense. If it could be revived so easily, Voldemort's primary soul would not have been so obsessed with the Philosopher's Stone, and he would not have gone to the trouble of creating a complicated resurrection plan after his failure.

"You've surprised me again…" Tom Riddle seemed to fade a little.

He touched the wound that had been cut open by Shadowless and looked deeply at Ivan. "Of course I haven't come back to life yet… but that's only a matter of time!"

"Are you sure?" Ivan asked sarcastically. "I think it would be best if you didn't come back to life. After all, you can't even beat a second-year wizard like me, and you have the nerve to call yourself the Dark Lord?"

"You deserve to die!"

Tom Riddle's face turned ugly. He extended his wand, and a fierce, hot fire rose from it, changing forms in midair as it surged forward in waves of heat…

Ivan pointed with his right hand, and the statue of a giant snake appeared in front of him, sucking the fire into its mouth.

The next moment, a fierce fire erupted from the snake's body, sending it tumbling down the aisle. Ivan's expression changed, and he waved his wand, sending the snake diving into the deep pool.

Seeing that the pool was still steaming, Ivan understood that the fire had not melted and immediately attacked again…

Petrification Charm! Disarming Charm! Splitting Charm!

Three spells were cast in quick succession. Ivan had already pushed himself to his limits, and the effect of the Experience Card had already been activated the moment the battle began.

Tom Riddle, who had nearly been cut in half, did not dare to be careless anymore. He became more cautious and cast several spells on himself. Then, with a flick of his wand, he cast a spell that fired tens of thousands of bullets at the same time, and pieces of rock the size of a human head flew through the air with a piercing sound…

The dark room was lit up by the flickering lights of countless charms, and the statues of giant serpents on either side of them served as the perfect support.

Yvonne had used up nearly half of her magic and was growing anxious. Tom Riddle was careful to keep his distance from her, not giving her any opportunity to get close.

The special properties of a Horcrux made it extremely difficult to destroy, and Ivan only had the Ring of Fire, which could be used once, and the Basilisk Fangs he carried with him.

Both require the appropriate moment to be used. After all, Tom Riddle was not a sitting duck.

He needed to create an opportunity before his magic ran out!

"What's the matter? Is that all you've got?" Tom Riddle asked with a sneer, as he was beginning to understand Ivan's level of skill.

"What about your blood magic? When you first learned the method to fuse bloodlines from me, don't tell me that you didn't have the courage to try it after so long…"

"In that case, I'll go first!" Tom Riddle's lips curled into a dark smile, and a thick black mist poured out of his body like a black wave, crashing down from the sky!

Fear, despair, pain…all kinds of negative emotions filled the dim chamber, and the temperature seemed to drop considerably…

Ivan tried his best to push these negative emotions out of his mind. At the same time, he finally understood why Lord Voldemort, who possessed Chino in the previous school year, had summoned the black mist. It was the bloodline magic that Lord Voldemort possessed!
