Snape, in his dark green robes, was already standing in the audience, dragging his long black cloak behind him as he hurried up.
Ivan looked at the thin figure in front of him and felt a faint pressure.
In contrast to Lockhart, who had dared to challenge him in the original timeline, Ivan knew exactly how strong Snape was.
It can be said that Snape was one of the most powerful wizards in the wizarding world, after the likes of Dumbledore and Voldemort.
Even Lord Voldemort, who possessed a Chino during his school years, would be no match for Snape!
However, this was also the reason why Ivan chose to challenge Snape. He desperately needed to know how strong he was after his second blood fusion, and the best way to do that was naturally to fight!
"Professor Snape, are you ready?" Ivan asked.
"I never have to prepare!" Snape spat out the words with a straight face, then added sarcastically, "I hope you're as good as your biography says you are!"
"You'll find out soon enough…" Ivan said noncommittally.
With that, Ivan bowed in accordance with the rules of the duel, and Snape gave a small nod in response to the stares of the young wizards.
"Three … two … one!" Ivan shouted, counting down. As he said the last number, his wand shook.
"Expelliarmus!"
A red hex flew towards Snape.
Snape nonchalantly cast an Armor Charm on himself, and a barrier of magic rose up to ward off the Disarming Charm.
However, before the Shield Charm's rebound could take effect, two more beams of light slammed into the barrier, shattering it. Snape stumbled back and nearly fell to the ground.
"Very good… you did surprise me." Snape steadied himself, his expression turning ugly as he let go of his contempt and glanced at Ivan's gloves, ring and cloak.
He could tell that Lockhart had several powerful magical tools on him. Lockhart had used the advantage of the magical tools to cast three spells in a second, catching him off guard.
Snape had no intention of pointing it out, even though he could tell that she was using an external force.
After all, magical tools are part of a wizard's strength, not to mention the fact that continuous casting of spells with the help of magical tools generally requires a high level of magical skill…
"You made a terrible mistake in not pursuing me when I made a mistake. That was your only chance to win!" Snape scowled and moved back to face Ivan.
"That kind of victory is not what I had in mind!" said Ivan, shaking his head.
He intended to use Snape as a whetstone to improve his skills, so he did not intend to win by trickery!
Ivan even had the leisure to remind the watching wizards, "Did you all see that? That's the first thing I want you to remember. Underestimating the enemy is a taboo in battle!"
Snape's face darkened.
Many of the students burst out laughing at Ivan's use of Snape as a negative example, and George and Fred even took the lead in applauding. It was the first time they had ever seen Snape look so defeated…
Yvonne saw Snape's expression darken and wondered if she had been too excited.
"You will regret this… Urawoo!" Snape said the incantation coldly, and with a flick of his wand, three huge black snakes shot out, their sharp fangs gleaming in the air.
At that moment, a red light exploded in the air, and the three black and red snakes were torn into a dozen pieces. Their broken bodies transformed into countless white birds that shot back at Snape before they could even touch the ground.
Snape's expression did not change as he raised his wand and swung it down.
The hundreds of candles floating in the air above the Great Hall seemed to have been guided by something, and their weak flames began to swell and split, burning the flock of birds to ashes.
"Spread out! Spread out! Move away!" The faces of the professors changed, and Flitwick could see that the two sides were serious. He quickly shouted at the students surrounding the platform to move away.
"Explode!" Ivan chanted at the same time, and an orange fireball flew from the tip of his wand, expanded in the wind, and collided with the serpent.
Even though Ivan was unable to use Enhanced Characters this time, the power of the thunderbolt explosion was still astonishing!
The two collided, and a violent explosion filled the hall, sending sparks flying!
When Professor Flitwick saw this, he held his wand and prepared to remove the shockwaves so as to not affect the young wizards watching.
However, before he could do anything, the flames that were escaping were gathered on the dueling ground again. Ivan waved his wand, and the flames transformed into a fiery horse that soared into the sky and neighed!
Snape pursed his lips and no longer held back. An invisible magical blade sliced through the air and instantly sliced through the horse!
Without pausing, the invisible blade charged straight at Ivan…
The Shield Charm had been attached to Ivan's body during the battle, but this magical barrier did not completely defend against the extremely penetrative Divine Edge Shadowless, and was soon broken…
Fortunately, the protective cloak worked. A second magical barrier appeared in front of it and blocked the attack…
Professor Flitwick directed the young wizards to retreat again and again, still not feeling safe enough.
Professor Flitwick wanted to tell Snape and "Lorhart" to stop, but he knew that neither of them would listen to him, so he sighed and gave up.
Ivan had activated the Experience Card to increase his combat ability shortly after his fight with Snape. After all, there was no better place to practice than in actual combat, and he could hear his proficiency increasing with every spell he cast.
Even so, he was suppressed by Snape.
The dueling ground beneath his feet was less than eight meters long and three meters wide. Being confined to such a small area meant that there was no way out for either side. It was a competition of magical skills!
If one could not immediately break the other party's spell and retaliate, they would only die!
Ivan's brow was furrowed. As Lockhart, he was unable to perform blood magic, and his knowledge of charms was far inferior to Snape's, who had invented his own spells as a student…
