Even though Ivan could not speak the language, he was able to communicate with Marka without any trouble once he transformed into his Animagus form.
They would soon find out who had stolen the Horcrux from Maqal and retrieve it to destroy it!
It had only been a few hours since the Horcrux disappeared, so Tom probably hadn't had time to do anything.
With that in mind, Ivan ran out the door with Marka in his arms, looking for a place to transform and question her.
Harry and Ron, who were left in the dormitory, looked at each other, unsure what Ivan was trying to do… was he going to ask this owl?
…
At the same time, Ivan leads Majka into the Room of Requirement.
In her new environment, she was very excited and flew around the training room. When she returned, she was horrified to find Ivan's body shrinking rapidly.
But then she froze, her round eyes glazed over as Ivan transformed from a human into an owl.
After getting used to her new body, Ivan flapped his wings and flew over to Macka, intending to ask her what had happened in the dormitory.
"Coo-coo~ (So you're an owl, too?!)" Before Ivan could ask a question, Marka cooed adorably and affectionately poked his cheek with her beak.
Ivan's face darkened and he nearly fell out of the air.
He only temporarily transformed into an owl…
"Stop it!" Ivan flapped his wings at her, then got down to business. "Makah, what happened in the dorm?"
She didn't disappoint Ivan, speaking haltingly despite her inability to express herself accurately.
Shortly after he left, a strange, ugly creature about the height of a table appeared in the dormitory.
Then, when the strange creature came in, it rummaged around, looking for something, and made a mess of the dormitory.
Naturally, this situation was intolerable to the Maca, so it released several of its "kind" from the cage to fight the strange creature.
However, the "comrades" were not strong enough to drive off the intruder, who took something from Ivan's suitcase and disappeared.
"A strange, hideous creature as tall as a table? It can suddenly vanish? Dobby?" Yvonne muttered to herself. The only one who fit the bill was Dobby.
But why? How could Dobby be so bold as to steal a Horcrux?
It must be noted that Dobby never once attempted to steal Ginny's Horcruxes, and as a house-elf, he was unlikely to have foiled Malfoy Senior's plans.
It was for this reason that Ivan had not thought of Dobby before.
Yvonne was deep in thought when she felt a brush against her cheek. She turned to see Marka leaning towards her.
"Googoogoogoogoogoogoogoogoogoogoog."
"Wait… what do you want?" Ivan asked, vaguely aware that something was wrong. He suddenly remembered that the Malka was a female owl.
Ivan was so frightened that he quickly reverted to his normal form.
Marka blinked adorably, not quite understanding why Ivan had suddenly changed back…
Ivan looked at the adorable owl in front of him with a resigned expression. It seemed that he had better not change his appearance in front of Marka.
After learning that Dobby was the one who had stolen the Horcrux, Ivan pondered how to catch him on the way back to the dormitory.
In terms of actual strength, Dobby was no weaker than the average adult wizard and would not be easy to deal with.
More importantly, the house-elf's movements were unpredictable, and she could Disapparate at will at Hogwarts, making it extremely difficult to find her, let alone capture her!
Even so, Ivan was not entirely helpless, as his Animagus form allowed him to communicate with all the owls in the school, who were, in a sense, his spies.
Also, Ivan knew something important that he could use.
Dobby's attention and concern for Harry was such that he would be able to set up a trap to lure Harry into it automatically…
He wondered if Harry would agree…
…
When Ivan returned to the dormitory, Harry and Ron helped him pack up the mess he had left behind, and even the owls that had been running around were put in cages.
"Harry, Ron, thank you!" Ivan exclaimed, embarrassed that he had forgotten to help clean up after leaving.
Harry and Ron shook their heads to show they didn't mind.
"By the way, Ivan, have you figured out who's messing with our dorm?" Ron asked curiously.
"It was a strange, ugly creature about the height of a table… I think it was a house-elf," said Ivan, nodding.
Harry's face changed and he exclaimed.
"It's Dobby!"
"What? Which Dobby? The one who hit you with a Bludger?" Ron didn't think of it at first, but he soon got it.
After the Quidditch match, Harry told him that it was Dobby, Lucius Malfoy's house-elf.
If not for Dobby, he would not have received his mother's Howler in public, where he was thoroughly humiliated that morning.
"It's that bastard again!" Ron was furious and wanted to hang Dobby for it.
Ron then asked curiously, "Did you really hear from your owl?"
When he saw Ivan rushing out with the owl to find a place to talk, he wondered if Ivan had lost his mind…
"You know, Macha's always been smarter…" Ivan shrugged, not bothering to explain.
Ron was tempted to comment that he was actually asking how Ivan communicated with an owl.
"Anyway, I've thought of a way to lure Dobby out of hiding, and I might need your cooperation." Ivan turned to Harry.
Harry fell into a momentary daze as he recalled Dobby's words to him in the hospital wing, after Ivan had called him several times.
Ivan had no choice but to repeat what he had said.
"You have a way of catching Dobby?"
"That's great!" Ron was equally excited.
"Yes, it's just that you might have to sacrifice a little bit, Harry, and there's a bit of a risk in that plan!" Yvonne said, looking at Harry as a precaution.
