Chapter 214 - The Duelling Club and the New Clue

Transfiguration — A Little Story You Don't Know!

When she saw the title of the book and the passage about the Animagus, Ivan gave Luna a guilty look. Could she have guessed something?

Why else would he read such a book?

Luna's silver-grey eyes were still fixed on Ivan's, and when Ivan was at a loss for what to do, the little witch suddenly frowned and murmured gloomily.

"You didn't deliver my letter last time…"

"I'm not really an owl, and I don't have a messenger business," Yvonne said grudgingly, admitting who she was.

He had no choice but to admit it, as Luna was obviously convinced of his status.

Moreover, it seemed that the other party did not tell Professor Flitwick or Professor McGonagall and instead helped him to hide it. Otherwise, Professor McGonagall would have come to him in a rage.

"So the owl is your Animagus?" Luna asked, gesturing again and looking at Ivan inquiringly.

"Right." Yvonne nodded, and this time he understood what Luna was gesturing about. It was the outline of an owl.

Ivan then asked curiously, "How did you find out that my transformed owl didn't have any flaws?"

The Animagus was a fairly advanced Transfiguration spell, and once it was completed, even a Wizard proficient in Transfiguration would find it difficult to detect.

"Because a real owl doesn't steal people's letters or read the papers, does it?" Luna tilted her head, her tone light.

Ivan was speechless. It seemed he had overstepped his bounds.

Add to that the fact that the owl he transformed into paid such close attention to the headlines of The Quibbler, and it was no wonder Luna could easily guess his identity.

Ivan quickly thought of the various flaws in his transformation.

It was just that Ivan had always felt that Luna lacked common sense and was keen to pursue strange things, and that she might be able to accept a rather special owl.

He didn't expect them to be so clever…

Ivan shook his head and handed over the book. Luna took it from him, but her eyes lingered on the piece of paper Ivan was holding.

"Did you write this? A passage?" Luna asked suddenly.

Ivan paused and looked at Luna in surprise. He grabbed her wrist and asked, "I read this somewhere else. There are secrets in these characters. Can you read them?"

"No, I can't read it, but I think it's supposed to be a passage… perhaps praising someone…" Luna's voice wavered.

Intuition? The spark of hope in Ivan's heart cooled.

The system had given him a key, possibly the key to unlocking a place, which apparently did not fit with what Luna had just said.

When Luna got her book back, she didn't talk to Ivan anymore. Instead, she walked back into the library, mumbling to herself, "That must not have been left behind by Lady Ravenclaw. She's not that narcissistic…"

Ivan faintly heard Luna's whisper, but was unsure exactly what she was saying.

However, Luna's behaviour had always been strange, and Ivan could not guess what she was thinking. He suddenly remembered that he had not asked her why she could understand Owl.

Yvonne thought about it for a while, then gave up and went to Hermione, who was reading a book on her chair.

"Hermione, did you find a clue about the characters?" Yvonne asked.

"No, I checked both the Ancient Egyptian Characters and the Magical Symbols, but I couldn't find anything…" Hermione covered the book in disappointment.

Hermione hesitated for a moment, then pretended not to care and asked, "Who was that girl? Was she a new student this year?"

"Well, her name is Luna, and she's from Ravenclaw House, so I thought I'd ask her if she could read them," Ivan explained.

"And as a result…" Hermione began nervously.

"Luna said it might be a compliment to someone…" Ivan began.

"She can read it?" Hermione was surprised, and then a little upset. She had read so many books, and yet she could not read as much as a Ravenclaw girl.

"Luna must have guessed it from her intuition…" Ivan said uncertainly.

He remembered that Luna's intuition seemed to be quite accurate in the past, but he did not know why she had made such an unreliable judgment.

Intuition? That worked? Hermione was speechless for a while. She was not impressed with things like intuition, which she considered to be nothing more than wild speculation.

Ivan and Hermione stayed in the library lounge for the rest of the afternoon, and when it was almost time for dinner, they walked together into the Great Hall.

When she reached the door, Ivan saw a new parchment on the noticeboard in the entrance hall.

A small crowd gathered to read the parchment, including Ron and Harry.

"Oh my God, Ivan, come and see! There's going to be a duelling club at school! It's at eight o'clock tonight!" Ron exclaimed excitedly as he turned around and saw Ivan.

"What duelling club? What's that for?" Hermione asked, curious.

"It should be a lesson on how to duel, as such knowledge will come in handy one day." Ron fantasised that he would one day be able to battle a powerful enemy like the protagonist of a biography.

Ivan had been informed of this and was not surprised.

She even admired Lockhart's tenacity. He had just been dealt a blow yesterday, but he was back on his feet today…

Impressive!

While Ivan was deep in thought, Harry and Ron, who had been discussing the matter, turned to him excitedly.

"Ivan, you'll be there at night, won't you?"

"Of course, I'm also very curious about this duelling club." Ivan nodded. He couldn't wait to see Lockhart perform.

When the four of them arrived at the Great Hall at 8 p.m., they found that the place had changed a lot.

The desks of the Heads of the Four Great Colleges were gone, replaced by a gilded stage with hundreds of candles floating over it, illuminating the surroundings.

Almost all of the Hogwarts students who had received the news gathered around the gilded stage to discuss this unusual new class…

(PS: The third chapter is finished! Recently, the plot has not been easy to write. It is very difficult for an angel to write a script. Please understand…)
