Chapter 207 - Do You Want to Be As Strong As Me?

Professor McGonagall looked at the unconscious Lockhart with disappointment.

She usually regarded Lockhart as a vain and mediocre liar, but she had never expected him to be unable to control a group of lesser wizards.

Professor McGonagall sighed, waved her wand, and summoned a basin of water to pour on Lockhart's face, trying to wake him up.

Ivan, who was watching, had an odd expression on his face, as if he had a theory.

Professor McGonagall's face darkened, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she used a Levitation Charm to lift up some of the young wizards who had been injured in the melee and transport them to the hospital wing.

However, as there were too many people injured, Professor McGonagall turned to Ivan.

"Take the rest of them, and Professor Lockhart!"

Ivan nodded and cast a simultaneous Levitation Charm to transport the rest of them away.

"As for you!" McGonagall called out to the group of young Gryffindors before leaving.

"I'll give you one hour to clean this place up! And no cleaning magic!"

Wood and the others, who were already on tenterhooks due to the deduction of points, wailed when they heard that the stadium would be cleaned up in an hour without magic.

George and Fred were devastated.

They knew very well that the Dungbombs they made not only smelled bad, but were also very difficult to get rid of.

However, Professor McGonagall did not care about this. If she did not see a clean court when she returned, she would not be punished so simply.

The Slytherin house serpents had a rough time, as McGonagall ordered them to stay and clean as well.

As for how many House points will be deducted from Slytherin for this affray, that will be decided by their Head of House Snape …

Ivan was somewhat relieved that he did not have to stay to clean up the mess, and was able to transport the injured students to the hospital wing with Professor McGonagall.

Madam Pomfrey had just settled a patient in the hospital wing when she turned around and saw Ivan and McGonagall carrying seven or eight young witches and wizards into the hospital wing.

"Oh my God, what's going on? Is there an attack on the campus? Even Professor Lockhart is injured?" Madam Pomfrey hurried over and instructed Ivan to place the patient on the empty bed.

Professor McGonagall shook her head. "No, it was just a bunch of football-watching students. As for Professor Lockhart, he was probably just tired and wanted to get some rest."

Madam Pomfrey, a skilled healer, soon realised that Lockhart was pretending to be unconscious, and shot him a look of disdain.

Madam Pomfrey was relieved to find that the wounds of the young wizards were superficial and could be treated with a simple Healing Charm.

"Where's Harry, Madam Pomfrey?" Yvonne asked.

"I've dealt with Potter's injuries, but he's still unconscious. I think he'll wake up after half a day's sleep," Madam Pomfrey explained gently, then went to deal with the others.

Professor McGonagall did not stay long. After sending the young witches and wizards to the hospital wing, she left without calling Ivan.

She may have thought that Yvonne wanted to spend some time with her friends…

Yvonne walked over to Harry's bed and saw that he was still unconscious.

If the Bludgers and Quaffles had been any more off-centre, they would have been smashed in the head.

However, Dobby was a house-elf and could perform Apparition-like magic at Hogwarts with ease, so catching him was not easy.

Let Dumbledore worry about that…

Ivan shook his head, thinking that Dumbledore would surely try to talk to Harry after the attack, and that the old headmaster would know that a house-elf was causing trouble at the school and would not have to worry about it.

Just as Ivan was about to leave, Lockhart, who was lying on the bed next to him, "woke up".

"What's wrong with me? Why am I in the hospital wing? Hals, can you tell me what just happened?" Lockhart asked blankly.

Yvonne paused and watched the performance in silence.

However, Ivan did not expect Lockhart to "wake up" at a time like this. He kept trying to guess why, but he replied naturally.

"Professor Lockhart, you must have been knocked out cold on the pitch."

"Is that so?" Lockhart asked casually, his eyes fixed on Ivan's ring and bracelet.

"I saw you cast an Armour Charm on the Quidditch field without a spell. Is that because you have some sort of magical prop?"

Ivan looked at Lockhart with amusement. He had a vague idea why Lockhart was looking for him, so he got straight to the point.

"Yes, these magical tools were created by me using many precious materials. For example, this protective ring can instantly cast a spell similar to the Shield Charm by pouring magic into it…"

Ivan went on and on about the protective ring's effects,

Lockhart was very impressed. The chaos at the Quidditch pitch had thoroughly embarrassed him.

Lockhart was in desperate need of something to save his reputation. For example, a public demonstration of his "super strength" …

Lockhart, however, had some self-awareness, and knew that he had neglected his magical training over the years by focusing on fame and glory.

It is only when magic is needed that one discovers that even simple spells have the potential to go wrong and go berserk.

At this level, it would be difficult not to embarrass oneself, let alone prove one's strength.

Thus, when Lockhart saw Ivan making a name for himself on the Quidditch pitch with a magical prop, he had some ideas.

"How about it, Professor? Do you want to buy a protective ring? I can make you a deluxe gold-plated one…" Ivan offered enticingly.

In Ivan's mind, Lockhart was the richest of the rich.

All else aside, the number of bestsellers Lockhart forced all of his students to sell during his tenure as Defence Against the Dark Arts professor was worth tens of thousands of Galleons…

His ability to plunder was simply explosive!
