Visiting Knockturn Alley?
Ivan looked at the two men, who were burning with the desire to die, and tried to refuse, but was beaten to the punch by Mrs Weasley's angry roar!
"How can you think that?"
From a distance, Mrs Weasley heard George and Fred's death-seeking speech, so she came up and smacked them on the head.
"The Knockturn Alley is the most dangerous place in the wizarding world! It is full of the worst Dark Wizards!"
'Mum, how can you say that? Ivan lives in Knockturn Alley,' George retorted, covering his head with his hands.
It was only then that Mrs Weasley noticed Ivan's presence, and became flustered.
"Oh, sorry, kid, I didn't mean—"
"It's all right," said Ivan, shaking his head to show that he didn't mind, and turning to George and Weasley. "Mrs Weasley was right. Knockturn Alley is dangerous, and not a place you can just go."
The pair were dubious, but Ivan's refusal prevented them from enquiring about Knockturn Alley.
George thought of something and took out the Daily Prophet from his pocket.
"Ivan, we read in the paper this morning about you developing the Wolfsbane Potion, and there was a picture of you with Minister for Magic! Is that true? We told Mom you'd definitely win the Order of Merlin, but she didn't believe us!"
All eyes turned to Ivan, curious as to whether he was telling the truth.
Ivan nodded casually and said, "Yes, I was nominated for the Order of Merlin for the development of the Wolf Venom Potion, and Professor Dumbledore is willing to be my nominee…"
"That's wonderful!" George exclaimed. With Dumbledore as the nominee, Yvonne was almost certain to win the Order of Merlin.
Fred turned to look at Mrs Weasley.
"Mom, we told you Ivan would make it!"
"I heard…" Mrs Weasley rolled her eyes and snapped.
She had nothing against Ivan, other than the fact that George and Fred often used him as an excuse to get into an argument with each other over their nonsense joke merchandise.
"The Order of Merlin, what's that?" asked Hermione's father, Mr. Granger, who was listening in on the conversation.
"It's an award from the wizarding community, the highest of honors! Everyone who wins it has done the wizarding community a great service!" Arthur explained, giving Ivan an appreciative look.
"Hales' potion solved the problem of werewolf riots that plagued the wizarding community, and was nominated for the Order of Merlin."
"The same as our Nobel Prize? That's amazing!" Mr. Granger exclaimed when he saw that Ivan was only the same age as his daughter.
"A Nobel Prize? What's that?" It was the Weasleys' turn to be baffled.
It must be said that the generation gap between wizards and Muggles was quite large, but thanks to Hermione, who was the go-between, everyone soon understood.
"Well… that sounds about right." Arthur considered Muggle awards to be inferior to wizarding ones, but there were some similarities in their nature.
"Ivan, I can't believe you're doing something so important over the summer. I was wrong about you," Hermione said sheepishly, turning to Ivan.
As she had not read today's papers, Hermione had no idea Ivan had done such a terrible thing.
She felt Ivan must have been too busy researching wolfsbane potions to write to her during the summer holidays.
Hermione had read about werewolves in books, which were ferocious creatures who lost their minds every full night and transformed into monsters to attack the innocent.
Yvonne immediately followed Hermione's lead and nodded, indicating that she was the type of person who couldn't stop working for the peace of the wizarding community.
The group chatted and laughed as they headed to Flourish and Blotts.
Along the way, George and Fred tried to talk to Ivan about opening a joke shop next year, but Mrs Weasley watched them too closely to allow them to discuss practical jokes.
Ivan was slightly surprised when Arthur initiated a conversation with him, even asking about his family.
After a brief response, Ivan asked curiously.
"Do you know my mother?"
"Well…not really, exactly…" Arthur hesitated. "But I have had some dealings with your father…"
"My father? Can you tell me who he is? My mother never told me that," Yvonne asked, suddenly interested.
Even though Ivan was an impostor who had crossed over halfway through his life and did not care much for his father, it would be a lie to say that he was not curious.
"How could Alicia do this? She kept it from you for over ten years because of that!" Mrs Weasley exclaimed in disbelief as she realised who Ivan's father was.
"Did my father do something bad?" Yvonne asked, frowning at the confusion.
"No, no, not at all!" Mrs Weasley said gently, looking at Ivan with more pity than before. "Child, don't ever think that. Your father never did anything wrong. He was a hero!"
"Mrs. Weasley, would you mind telling me about it?" Yvonne asked, feeling even more strange now. If that was the case, Alicia had no reason not to tell him.
"Of course…" Mrs Weasley began without hesitation, but Arthur cut her off.
"Molly! That, at least, should not come from us!"
Arthur then turned to Ivan and said apologetically, "If you want to know more, child, I suggest you ask your mother, Alicia. Otherwise, you can ask Dumbledore when you go to school, and they will know everything."
Ivan rolled his eyes. 'Why would I ask you if Alicia was willing to talk?'
As for asking Dumbledore?
Ivan didn't even think about it.
He has too many secrets, and it's hard to say who's going to ask who, and Ivan would like nothing more than to get as far away from Dumbledore as possible before he gets Occlumency to level six or seven…
