Chapter 148 - We Promised! How Much Does Such a Potion Cost?

Wolfsbane Potion?!

Hearing Ivan's explanation, the werewolf wizards were overwhelmed with excitement.

They had heard Ivan mention the Wolfsbane Potion the day before, but it had been an empty promise. They found it hard to believe that a mere wizard could have developed a potion that could solve their werewolf problem.

It was different now. Walker, who could still communicate normally after transforming into a werewolf, was right in front of them. No matter how surprised they were, they had to admit that this was the truth!

"You mean, if we drink the Wolfsbane Potion, we'll all be able to do what Walker did?" Even the normally calm Flan could not contain her curiosity.

"Of course." Ivan nodded and was about to push the potion on again when he saw an elderly werewolf witch lose control of her emotions and start sobbing.

Yvonne was puzzled. It didn't make sense for her to be so happy.

"Thank you!"

While Ivan was in a daze, Fran came up and patted him on the shoulder, thanking him sincerely.

With that, he turned to the crying old witch and spoke to Ivan with a bitter smile.

"You are not werewolves, and may find it difficult to understand our feelings.

They are actually poor souls who were not born to be werewolves, but rather were bitten or scratched by other werewolves who lost control in their early years, and were forcibly transformed due to poor treatment."

"The transformation from a normal wizard to a werewolf nearly destroyed their original lives.

They left their homes so as not to harm their loved ones, and found it difficult to find a job where they could support themselves in the vast wizarding world, as there was hardly anywhere to welcome a werewolf who could go on a rampage at any moment…"

Flan sighed and told Ivan story after story of werewolf wizards, each with his own misfortune.

Otherwise, they would not have ended up in Knockturn Alley without a proper meal.

Ivan was silent for a long time. He was not a werewolf wizard, so he did not fully understand how these people felt, although he considered werewolves to be like contagious disease in the Muggle world…

He had spent a lot of time in the hospital in his previous life, and knew the kind of discrimination that an infectious patient would face in life…

While Ivan was deep in thought, Fran gave a brief account of everyone's experiences except for herself and Walker.

After another pause, Fran sighed.

"Your wolfsbane potion gives us hope for a normal life, and I think every werewolf will thank you for that."

Ivan, however, was not so optimistic. He shook his head and said quietly, "Even with the Wolfsbane Potion, it will be difficult to change wizards' long-held beliefs in a short period of time. You'd better be prepared."

Ivan didn't want to be a wet blanket at a time like this if he could help it, but he understood that if these werewolf wizards were confident that the Wolfsbane Potion would clear the air, they would end up witnessing a crueler reality.

"We're well aware of that, of course, but at least there's some hope now, isn't there?" said Fran, who was quite open-minded.

The rest of the werewolves, having recovered from their earlier excitement, stepped forward to thank him.

Ivan was embarrassed by the back-to-back praise, as he had made the Wolfsbane Potion for selfish reasons.

"By the way, how much is this potion?" someone suddenly asked.

The group of werewolves realised this crucial point and looked nervously at Ivan.

The Wolfsbane Potion could help them get rid of the problem of going berserk after transforming, but only if they could afford it.

"Twenty… No, forget it, just ten Galleons!" Ivan sighed.

Ivan had wanted to set the price at twenty Galleons, which, according to his budget, would have been more or less what the werewolf wizards who worked or did odd jobs elsewhere could save up for a month.

The higher the price, the more money one could not afford, and the lower the price, the less money one could earn. Twenty Galleons was the limit that both parties could accept.

However, seeing all the werewolves looking at her and thinking about the stories that Flun had told her, Ivan hesitated for a moment before lowering the price to half the original price.

After setting the price, Ivan suddenly thought of something and gave Fran a dirty look. He was wondering why she was suddenly telling him stories.

Flan gave Ivan an apologetic look. He had no intention of threatening Ivan with these things. He just wanted to tell Ivan about the difficulties of werewolves, the inventor of the Wolf Poison Potion… Werewolves were really poor!

How could the werewolf wizards not see that Ivan had taken their situation into consideration and lowered the price?

"Thank you… thank you!"

"Ten Galleons, if you work hard, you can save it every month."

"With the Wolfsbane Potion, we'll soon find official employment… and be out of this place."

Several of the werewolves spoke at once about their vision of the future, most expressing their gratitude.

It was at this point that Fran spoke solemnly.

"Ivan Harris, if you ever need our help in the future, feel free to come to us. You're always welcome here, if… we can help."

"Yes, let me know if you run into any trouble!" Walker piped up, his sharp wolf paws curled into fists as he thumped his chest.

Ivan smiled, and his initial gloominess was swept away. In his previous life, he had not been able to find any hope, but after transmigrating, he had found hope for his race.

Ivan did not know how much Wolfsbane Potion cost in the original book, but it is estimated that ten Galleons is impossible, as the cost, publicity, research and development costs, as well as the complexity of brewing the potion, are all destined to be expensive!

Even if Ivan had the recipe given by the system to save on research and development costs, the cost of publicity and potion costs could not be fixed.

In addition, Ivan could not possibly spend all his time brewing the Wolfsbane Potion, so he had to hire someone else to brew the potion.

However, there were benefits to being cheap.

After all, one had to buy at least one bottle of this potion every month, and the lower the price, the more affordable it would be for all werewolves.

There are at least a few hundred werewolf wizards in Europe, aren't there? Even if a third of them were willing to buy werewolf venom every month, they would still make a tidy profit.

There are many ways to earn Galleons, and Ivan is not cruel enough to exploit a werewolf wizard to get rich…
