Realizing that Tom Riddle was up to no good again, Yvonne quickly re-examined and revised the subject they had been discussing, quickly restoring her proficiency in alchemy.
This was not the first time Ivan had discovered something similar.
Normally, the Horcrux Diary would answer any simple questions or basic spells truthfully.
However, when it came to advanced knowledge of spells, it was a different story, as Tom would occasionally give false information at crucial points that were impossible to guard against.
It was thanks to the system prompts that Ivan was able to find out in time.
Ivan was a little upset that he couldn't bring it up.
This was because Tom Riddle had already stated that he was just a young wizard who had written the diary, so it was normal for him to make some mistakes in his understanding of advanced knowledge.
Not only would it be useless to point it out, but it would also alert the other party.
In fact, unbeknownst to Ivan, Tom Riddle, who was inside the Horcrux, was even more frustrated. He had never seen a young wizard learn so quickly.
The knowledge that would take a normal person months to learn could often be mastered in a few days by Ivan, and the knowledge stored in his mind would not last long without certain restrictions on advanced spell knowledge.
The discussion went on into the night, and after analysing a plausible solution, ink began to appear on the Horcrux diary.
[I haven't had such a pleasant discussion with anyone in a long time. You're the most talented little wizard I've ever met.]
Yvonne smiled. 'Don't think he'll forget about trying to trip me up with a few compliments.'
However, Ivan pretended to be extremely happy and started writing with his quill.
[Tom, thank you. You are also one of the wisest wizards I have ever met…]
After some false praise, Ivan, pretending to be sleepy and refusing to divulge any information, covered the diary and hid it in the cupboard.
Even so, Ivan was still worried about being in the same room as the Dark Lord.
The cover of the diary had been finished days ago.
However, Ivan was well aware that if he used it, it would mean the end of a fairly good relationship, so he delayed using it.
A useful learning accelerator was not easy to come by, and it was worth the risk if you wanted to improve your strength quickly.
The next day, Ivan sorted out a discussion he had last night with Tom Riddle and discussed the possibility of implementing it with Alicia.
Asia was momentarily dazed by the torrent of information that bombarded her, and when she heard the plan that Ivan had come up with, her expression became troubled.
If she remembered correctly, Ivan had mentioned a number of conflicting magical formulae to her the day before, and now she had a plan?
"Construct a circulatory, closed magical circuit, and eventually form a closed loop of magic?" Alicia, who had finally come to her senses, began to seriously consider the feasibility of this plan.
"Yes," Ivan explained. "If activating more than one formula at once won't work, then we'll just have to separate them."
According to Ivan's understanding, creating a magical circuit was akin to turning an active skill into a passive skill.
Unfortunately, Ivan was only able to create a circuit for the Concealment Charm, which was very stable and required little magic to construct.
This was why he and Tom were able to work on it within a day.
The more she thought about it, the more convinced she was that it would work.
The experiment was performed with a hawthorn log, in which Alicia inscribed the circuits of the Hidden Runes, and then attempted to inscribe another simple formula on it. When activated by magic, a faint black aura emanated from the hawthorn log, but the magical fluctuations were so low as to be negligible.
"It's doable!" Acacia exclaimed, as excited as if she had discovered a new treasure. In fact, it was almost as good, as any discovery related to the written word would be a great find for Acacia.
After testing the wand's feasibility, Alicia took it out and handed it to Ivan along with the carving knife.
"You only have an hour to inscribe and only have one chance. If you fail, you may have to change your wand."
Ivan nodded, knowing full well that this was a crucial moment, and went on to spend his GPA to improve himself, devoting himself to the task of transforming his wand.
Compared to normal wood, wands were made of a much softer material, and the wand itself was very slender, causing a lot of trouble for the inscribing of magical runes.
It took Ivan a full fifteen minutes to complete the modifications to his wand, then he examined his work with satisfaction.
[Magical Item: Wand (Yew, Unicorn hair, eleven inches and three-quarters of a length)
Magic: Strong
Magic Word Circuit: Concealment (passively reducing magical fluctuations during casting)
Rune Sequences: Enhanced Rune Formulas (When activated, dramatically increases the power of the next charm. Note: Using the spell twice in six hours will have unpredictable consequences!)
Compatibility: 100%
Description: This is a specially modified wand.]
The wand's modified properties met Ivan's expectations, with the only disappointment being the long cool-down period after the spell had been enhanced.
Ivan had been delighted for a long time after working with Tom on this formula for increasing the power of a spell. He had not expected it to be so restrictive.
After waiting for around forty minutes and noting that the wand's texture had returned to normal, Ivan tried to activate the Augmenting Charms and point his wand at a nearby cupboard to test its effects.
"Shattered!"
A dark red magical light flashed past, and in the next second, the mahogany cabinet exploded, turning into pieces of wood that floated down…
The small work area was suddenly filled with sawdust…
Ivan was pleased. The charm had doubled in power!
Normally, he would not have been able to achieve such an effect with the Smashing Charm.
Ivan had also figured out the six-hour release interval.
Each activation of this formula placed a huge burden on the wand itself. Continuous use of the formula might exceed the wand's capacity and lead to an explosion…
While Ivan was thinking about it, he suddenly had a bad feeling. That cabinet seemed to contain alchemy materials.
Sure enough, Ivan then heard Alicia's angry roar…
