George and Fred pulled a long face. It was not easy to get an all-E rating, but they both knew that was the best Mrs Weasley could do.
In order to carry out their grand undertaking openly in the future, the two agreed.
"By the way, who is this Ivan you've been talking about?" Arthur asked with great interest.
"Ivan Hals! He's the most brilliant genius I've ever met. He defeated a troll when he first started school! He's the hero of Gryffindor!" George praised him without hesitation.
Fred then added his piece.
"He also rode a fire-breathing dragon to save the gamekeeper Hagrid from a Dark Wizard attack in the Forbidden Forest!"
"Are you telling fairy tales?" Mrs Weasley frowned.
"Of course not. If you don't believe me, you can ask Ron. He's sharing a room with Ivan!" George said confidently.
All eyes turned to Ron as George spoke.
"That's right, the whole school knows about it…" Ron shrugged.
Mrs Weasley was amazed. They could not imagine a first year wizard having such a legendary experience at school.
"Hales…" Arthur muttered to himself, remembering something.
"What about Potter? How's he doing at school? Has he ever ridden a dragon or fought a troll?" Ginny asked anxiously, tugging at Ron's shirt.
"Um… this…" Ron stammered, not knowing how to say it, but he eventually remembered a few glorious things.
"Harry managed to catch the Golden Snitch during his first year at Hogwarts! And together with Ivan, Hermione, and me, we foiled the Dark Lord's plot!"
At this point, Ron was somewhat proud of the fact that he had made a name for himself in the last year!
He was ignored, as Ginny muttered about The One's new adventures, and George and Fred competed with Mrs Weasley for fifty Galleons.
Mrs Weasley felt that they should not have been paid so much money at such a young age, and should have left the rest to her for the time being, except for the cost of the ingredients…
…
At the same time, Ivan, who had returned from the Muggle market with a set of machines, was working on the modifications with Alicia.
[Ding! Mission accomplished. Evaluation in progress.]
The prompt in her head pulled her out of her thoughts.
If this mission did not show completion soon, Ivan would have thought the system was broken.
"What is it?" Alicia asked, dusting herself off and noting Ivan's unusual expression.
"No, nothing." Ivan shook his head, settled down, and went back to work, carving knife in hand.
By the time the transformation was complete, it was already evening. After a quick dinner, Ivan returned to his small room and checked the mission details.
[Mission: Revive the Shop of Strange Magical Items in Hales
Objective: Visit the Ministry of Magic in one month's time (completed)
Task Rating: Perfect
Task Reward: 1000 GPA
Bonus: Wolfsbane Potion Recipe (collect or deny)
…
Ivan was a little excited when he received 1,000 GPA. However, he remembered that he had spent more GPA than this to learn alchemy and brew those strengthening potions.
What really surprised Ivan was the Wolf Poison Potion recipe as an extra reward!
Ever since her conversation with Dougster at the Burrow, Yvonne had come to the conclusion that Damocles Marcus had not developed this potion… but presumably not for more than a few months.
"Receive your reward!" Ivan said without hesitation.
The next moment, the recipe for the Wolf Venom Potion appeared in the system column.
[Wolf Venom Potion (Potion Recipe)
Ingredients: Calming flower, fig skin, thistle, sage root … werewolf blood.
Remark: This is a special potion that keeps a werewolf sane after transformation, and you only need to add a little sugar to make it lose its intended effect.]
Looking at the recipe given by the system, Ivan rubbed his smooth chin, wondering how this mission's reward of wolf venom potion would work on him.
The first, naturally, was to sell it for money, believing that a bottle of Wolfsbane Potion would be of unparalleled appeal to a werewolf.
Werewolf wizards were universally disliked and discriminated against, largely because they were forced to transform and lose their minds during a full moon or when they were extremely agitated.
In addition, werewolves are highly contagious, and wizards who are bitten or scratched may be at risk of assimilation if they are not treated in time.
The appearance of the Wolfsbane Potion was a surefire way to reduce the risk of werewolves going on a rampage and give them a chance to fit back into their normal lives.
The second was an increase in prestige, as Ivan recalled that Damocles Marcus, the inventor of the Wolfsbane Potion, was a member of Sir Merlin's Order.
Yvonne was thinking about this when another voice spoke.
[Ding! First round of mission completed. New mission issued.]
Ivan was not surprised when the new mission was announced. Since it was called a revitalisation, it could not have ended after passing the Ministry's inspection.
Yvonne checked it out.
[Mission Objective: Revive the Shop of Strange Magical Items in Hales
Task description: This shop passed the Ministry of Magic's inspection perfectly and received a large number of orders from the Ministry, but its reputation only spread over a small area and you will still have to work hard.
Task Reward: Depending on evaluation
Remarks: Some Dark Wizards are suffering losses because of the products you sell that strengthen the Ministry of Magic and keep an eye out for stragglers!"
The notice made Ivan frown, and if he hadn't been reminded by the system, he would have forgotten that the shop was located in Knockturn Alley, and that being in such close contact with the Ministry of Magic made it possible for retaliation.
Ivan, of course, would not have given up a large order from the Ministry of Magic if he had known.
Because this order represented the official recognition of the wizarding community and an opportunity to get out of the danger of Knockturn Alley and into normal business!
Yvonne had had enough of Knockturn Alley. It was dangerous and no one in their right mind would go there to buy goods.
So making enough Galleons and opening a real wizarding shop in the relative safety of Diagon Alley was what he should be doing.
Otherwise, Ivan was worried that something would happen to the family in his absence…
