Chapter 125 - Is This The Legendary Dark Arts Shop?

"Remember, be careful, be careful, be careful again! They're Dark Wizards, and they'll likely attack us the moment we walk through the door," Dawlish whispered to them as they entered.

"Yes…" Ellison and Sunny nodded like chickens pecking at rice.

The three of them walked to the door, and the bell hanging on the door began to shake gently with the wind.

Dawlish reacted as if he was facing a great enemy. He instinctively turned around and pointed his wand at the bell.

Sonny and Ellison were able to react quickly to the situation and scrambled to learn Dawlish moves.

In short, following the movements of a senior is never wrong…

A few seconds passed, however, and nothing happened…

The two young Aurors looked nervously at Dawlish. Had something happened? They could not tell.

"Cough, cough…" Dawlish cleared her throat awkwardly and tried to find an excuse to get away with it.

"Welcome to Strange Magical Things. How may I help you?"

Inside the shop, Ivan looked at the three Aurors who were pointing their wands at the front door as if they were facing a formidable enemy. He could not understand what they were trying to do to his door, but he still spoke enthusiastically.

Ivan's perfect timing relieved the awkward atmosphere, and Dawlish quickly retrieved her wand, her face expressionless, pretending nothing had happened.

Ellison and Sunny's attention instantly turned to Ivan.

Before re-entering, Ellison wondered what the owner of the shop would be like.

A grim-looking, bald wizard in strange clothes? Or a witch with a strange smile on her face and a blind eye? They never expected to be greeted by a young wizard of eleven or twelve.

"Where's Mrs. Harls?" Dawlish frowned. He hadn't thought of that either, but his cautious attitude prevented him from letting his guard down.

He recalled reading that the owner of this shop was a young witch.

"Mom's upstairs. She'll be here soon," Ivan explained, then came out from behind the counter and gestured to the trio.

"Are you gentlemen and ladies here to buy something? I'm sure you'll be interested to hear about it."

Rosany tried to explain why she was here, but Dawlish stopped her. The tower-like man shook his head at the two team members.

"That's right. We're here to buy things."

Ellison and Sunny immediately understood what Dawlish meant. The Captain wanted them to pretend to be guests so that they could get information about the shop.

Despite the fact that they were in uniform, the young wizard might not have known who they were… and might have been able to get them to give him information on the Dark Arts items, preferably by catching them red-handed.

Ivan knew exactly who these Aurors were, but he had no intention of exposing them, so he took them on a tour of the shop while introducing the goods.

This was because he was counting on these Aurors to buy more things and help promote it…

The three Ministry of Magic Aurors nervously navigated their way through the many magical objects, which, although they appeared to be perfectly normal, they suspected contained some sort of savage Dark Magic.

"This is a fake wand," Ivan said, pointing to the nearest wand, which was made of wood.

"What, you sell knockoffs here?" Sunny said angrily.

"It's not a fake, can't you read the instructions?" Ivan said, speechless as the veins on his forehead bulged.

Sunny immediately moved closer to take a look. Sure enough, there was a sign that showed how to use a fake wand.

"Touch it and it turns into a toy made of rubber or white iron?" Sunny murmured.

From the looks of it, there's nothing special about this, but there's definitely more to the Dark Arts than meets the eye…

"Is it supposed to turn us into toys? That's horrible!"

Sonny took a few steps back, looking horrified.

Ellison was left speechless by this revelation.

Ivan had no reply to that. Seeing how cowardly they were, he grabbed the fake wand in front of them.

The trio noticed Ivan's movement and moved away from the wand, their eyes fixed on it.

As everyone watched, Ivan touched the fake wand, and it transformed into a floppy rubber mouse, which the Weasleys had implanted with a sound spell that made it squeak.

When Sunny saw the mouse, she screamed, but Ellison looked back at Dawlish with an odd expression…

'Is that what you meant by Dark Arts item, Captain?'

It didn't seem very scary…

It's just a toy, not some kind of dark magical object… Dawlish rolled his eyes and then used his eyes to tell them not to let their guard down.

Sunny and Ellison nodded solemnly. They were well-trained Aurors, and even though they had only been in office for a short time, they had heard a lot about the Dark Wizard routine during their training. They often used disguises to put the victim at ease and deliver the fatal blow!

However, as Ivan diligently introduced the magical items in the shop, Sunny and Ellison's expressions became increasingly strange.

A Dungbelly that spits foul-smelling juice after hitting an enemy, a Quill that automatically answers questions to complete homework tasks, or a potion that temporarily increases one's charm after drinking it…

The series of explanations, coupled with Ivan's potential affinity, almost tempted Sunny to pay for it several times, and Ellison was very tempted. He was very keen to buy an answering quill, so that he would not have to write the report himself.

However, every time they tried to make a move, Dawlish stopped them with a stern look.

How could anyone shop in the target shop when they were on a Ministry mission?

Sigh… fussy customer, Ivan sighed, understanding that he would not be able to sell anything today if he did not deal with Dawlish.

Ivan paused for a moment and then led them to a shelf in the centre of the shop. On top of the shelf was a pair of black and red gloves with a metal shield-shaped patch on the back. The patch was emblazoned with the shop's logo and was decorated with golden patterns.

What could be more tempting to an Auror who had been through a lot of battles than a magical tool that enhanced his fighting and survival skills?

(PS: Thank you, League Master Huan Yu, for the tip. The Post-Entry Envoy originally only wanted to be a salted fish twice a day and occasionally turn over three chapters a day. However, it seems that it is impossible. Whether it is the fourth or fifth chapter today depends on the evening. They will be posted together.)
