Chapter 190 - Can I Try?

Ivan pretended to be fierce, but for a moment he didn't know what to do with Malfoy.

Ivan soon thought of a way to intimidate him, and turned to Harry and the others, who were watching the commotion.

"What about Colin, the one who likes to take pictures? Why don't you get him over here and take some pictures of Malfoy … wash them out and post them to everyone."

"I think I just saw this kid. He should be in the corridor over there… We can get Colin to take more pictures so that everyone can have a good look…" George, who was watching the commotion, thought that this must be very interesting, so he went to look for Colin with a strange smile.

Malfoy began to panic. He didn't believe Ivan would dare to do such a thing, but he didn't want to risk becoming the laughing stock of the school.

Malfoy's face turned green and then white. It took him a while to force the words out of his mouth.

"Mud… I'm sorry…"

Malfoy didn't look happy about it, and his face twisted…

Ivan was not impressed; Malfoy had obviously wanted to say Mudblood again.

"Never mind, Ivan, put him down. If Professor McGonagall sees him, you'll be punished too," Hermione said, shaking her head.

Ivan looked at her for a moment, then nodded and waved his wand, causing Malfoy to fall out of the air and eat a mouthful of mud.

"George, come back, you don't have to go!" Yvonne called out when she saw that George was halfway home.

Colin was annoying. If he knew anything, the whole school would know.

On the other side, a very tough-looking Wood shouted at the Slytherins.

"Get out of here! This is Gryffindor territory!"

Marcus's face darkened, and he was about to tell the Slytherin team to leave when Malfoy, who had just got up from the ground, spoke indignantly.

"Why should we? This is not Gryffindor territory…"

"What? You still want to fight?" Ron eagerly pulled out his wand. He had long wanted to teach Malfoy a lesson.

George and Fred looked at each other with amusement.

Marcus frowned and tried to stop Malfoy, but Malfoy interrupted.

"This is the Quidditch pitch. Whoever loses must get out of here. Do you dare come?" Malfoy couldn't stand it any longer and shot Ivan a challenging look.

He was well aware of the gap between his abilities and Ivan's, so he had to settle for Quidditch.

The Slytherin team members were also tempted. There were many senior students among them, but they were all humiliated by Ivan, a young wizard.

Marcus, who had intended to try to dissuade her, fell silent.

A Slytherin team with a new broomstick has little chance of defeat, and they do have the right to train, so there is no need to back down…

"Ivan's not on the Gryffindor team," Wood explained, stepping forward to refuse.

After all, seven 2001s were more than enough to greatly improve the Slytherin team's capabilities, and Gryffindor had little chance of winning until a strategy of restraint was developed.

Unfortunately, before he could say anything, George shouted at him.

"Let's see who loses!"

"That's right, so what if it's a new broom? You can't win a Quidditch match with a good broom!"

The excited cubs had no intention of backing down, either, not to mention Ivan's earlier performance, which had slapped Slytherin in the face and greatly boosted their confidence.

Wood sighed and said nothing more.

He felt that it would be good to meet Slytherin in advance, and even if he lost, he would be able to find out how much of a speed advantage the Nimbus 2001 had, so that he could plan tactics for the official match.

A little disgrace at best …

"Can I give it a try?" Ivan asked, turning to Wood.

Wood looked blank for a moment, then troubled. "Are you sure you want to play? You haven't been in any of the training sessions, and you can't work with the team."

"It doesn't matter," Ivan said confidently. "I know the rules of Quidditch, and Madam Hooch was very pleased with my flying talent during my flying lessons."

Hearing this, Wood became more confident in Ivan, thinking that he might be another flying genius like Harry.

On top of that, Wood wasn't confident he could win this time, so after thinking about it, he told Ivan.

"Ask them. See who's willing to make room."

Ivan turned to look at the Gryffindor team and was about to question them when Fred threw his broom at him.

'What do you think of Beaters?'

"It's nice. I hear you can hit people in this position?" Yvonne teased as she took the old Cleansweep Five.

"If you aim right…" Fred shrugged. Beaters could not hit people directly, of course, or the game of Quidditch would change from playing to hitting people.

However, if the Beater was good enough, they could clear the opposing team by hitting a Bludger.

Only, it's not easy…

Not only could the Bludger move on its own, but it was also very fast. It often ran all over the field and was not easy to play against. Furthermore, the opposing team's key players were usually protected.

"I thought you were just going to hide down there and watch, Harls." Malfoy, who had previously felt sorry for Ivan for not being a player, was excited when Ivan volunteered to play.

This meant that he would be able to humiliate the other party later.

"I can't help it if you want to humiliate yourselves…" Ivan said nonchalantly as he held the five stars that he had just obtained.

Malfoy was furious, the Slytherins were furious, they exchanged glances and soon came to an understanding…

"Well done, Ivan. You've taken Fred's place, so join me in getting rid of them one by one!" George exclaimed, clapping Ivan on the shoulder when he was rendered speechless.

The rest of the Gryffindor team welcomed Ivan, and Fred had blind faith in him. He had never seen anything he couldn't do.

This is why Fred willingly stepped aside…

Harry, the only one in the know, wanted to say something, but stopped himself, remembering that Yvonne had hooked her broomstick in her hand with her foot during their first flying lesson, and had managed to fool Madam Hooch…

As such, Harry wondered if Ivan was the right choice…
