King P. O. V
Tomorrow is today, and I am having a meeting on what happened yesterday. I got ready, and my body felt hardened and stretched after training. I even had a good night's sleep which helped a lot.
Since it was not time for the meeting, I headed to the dining table, and my wife arrived later, greeting me with a kiss then the kids joined us. Everyone took their seats.
I called for the servants to serve us breakfast. They came back with plates of food covered with lids and helped us. A delicious meal fit for a king like me to enjoy served to me on a silver platter. I could not wait to dig in. the aroma of the food twinkled my nose. I was done with five slices of pancakes stacked on each other with syrup spread. The breakfast was delicious.
I am done with my breakfast and headed to the throne room. The throne room is a place of seriousness, requests and meetings where citizens who request to see me complain about what is happening. I also come here to think and read messages. It is also where I meet with my officials. They were all here. It is time to get serious.
I sit on my throne, two steps higher I also tell the servants to bring chairs to sit on. We are all seated. The guard in question was brought here, as well as the supposed murderer.
The guard was brought into the centre.
"Are you ready to speak"? I asked boldly with confidence
"Yes, my king". He replied, bowing down and taking off his helmet. he was a handsome lad with brown hazel eyes fair in complexion, small, slightly pink lips, and a shaggy hairstyle.
The guard started telling the story explaining every part of it. He began with the time they were at the garden after witnessing the other guards stop a battle and capture them.
He had his partner at a carriage being called to pick up a prisoner. He told of his discussion with his higher-ranked guard about taking in a suspect who had been bruised with magic that was damaging his life, and I gave that a thought; it seemed like it maybe may be magic, but I was not too sure,e though. He then told about the suspect he was taking, who a rogue was and described his features, appearance, dress and style of weaponry, a rope and a dagger.
He continued to the fact that he gave him some mana to keep him alive before taking him to the carriage, and they were on the way to the priest to heal the rogue and then get some information out of him. Along the way, a dark blast came before we could react. The carriage was tumbling. The tumbling stopped the carriage was destroyed. His partner was confused about the explosion, which I couldn't answer. He quickly searches the carriage for the prisoner, only to find him outside, struggling for his life. He tries to get up but is stuck on the ground, and something before him is about to blast him.
"We rushed before the rogue and cancelled the blast before it connected. The attacker, his appearance, his entire face, someone was split in two, one side blood red, the other brown. He had this evil smile on his face. The look on his wascold-bloodedd. He was on top of a horse, even if it looked with d, with cuts and bruises on the leg, yet still standing with one eye emitting f. The body was merged with blood as if it was part of it; the body thought it had red skin, but it did not. The ora coming from him was odd.
I delivered a blast to his face and ran back to heal the rogue, and then I was knocked into something hard by something powerful. I became unconscious. Then when I woke up, I saw glass ceiling tiles floors. I was at the priest's but didn't know how I was alone there. I went outside and back to the scene finding the rogue missing and partner on the ground with that guy that attacked us, I called for backup, and that is it." That was said in his own words
He had finished the story which did puzzle me.
"What of the attacker". I asked
"We interrogated him, viewed him the way we saw him is different from how this guard described him". The advisor replied.
"Tell me more". I replied
"First, his face looked very normal light brown with brown hazel pupils on each eye; both eyes were the same colour. He told us that it wasn't him. Something was making him do those things". He continued.
"He is outside a few kilometres away from the castle, under the watch of our guards."
"Let us go. I want to see this attacker". I got up from my throne, and everyone followed me from behind. My kids wanted to come along, but I told them it was dangerous. I had second thoughts, so I allowed them to come. I had put them in my advisor's protection
We got into the carriages to get to the spot. It was about an hour's ride, stopped for some treats on the way.
We arrived at the field. The prisoner was placed midway between trees, except one had fallen. I was in front of the prisoner. He was in a portable rectangular-shaped metal case with two guards on each side. The case was open, revealing him with cuffs on his hands.
He didn't look exactly as described, relatively normal, with standard light brown colour on his skin, brown hazel eyes no blood-red colour on any of his body.
"Listen, your highness, and I was not in the right mind. Something was controlling me, compelling me to do those things." He said with his shaky voice, trying to come off as honest and sincere.
Anyways, both of them have told their own story, and it is left for me to take action. First, for the one in question, I can't let him go even if he is telling the truth, which is still unsure. If he is telling the truth about being used, then he might be a pun and will be used again.
"Listen, after everything I have heard today, and we .ight have to put you under strict watch. Even if you are telling the truth, you might be used like that again, but you will be fed and kept in good health."
After saying, he kept mute, and he drifted his gaze elsewhere before going down. I guess he accepted the situation. I apologised afterwards.
I went back to my advisor
"Find the rogue and bring him here, alive". I told him and then left back to the carriage going home.
