Nathan patiently waited to get news from Gerald about Sophie... he glances at the time.
Nathan. Thinks to himself 'Gerald said he'll call by 11:30, why is his call five minutes late? Should I reach out instead?'
Nathan felt impatient and nervous he had to do something soon as he noticed Audrey and Charlie were growing closer by the day... maybe he should confront Charlie after all... suddenly his phone rings...
Nathan. Disappointedly... 'hi Chloe...'
Chloe. 'Hi Nate, why do you sound so down? Am I calling at a wrong time?'
Nathan. Trying to be cheerful 'everything is fine Chloe... why are you calling this early? Hope no trouble at home?'
Chloe. 'Come on Nate, can't I just call to check on you? Should there be an actual reason for me to call?'
Nathan. Sensing sadness in Chloe's tone. 'I'm so sorry sis, I don't mean that... I was just...'
Chloe. Cuts in, laughs 'c'mon Nate, I'm beginning to suspect something is actually up with you... stop acting gullible... I'm stopping by for lunch with you today, make out time for me... bye'
Nathan smiled weakly at his phone he wondered what was keeping Gerald from calling him...
Nathan... feeling exhausted 'maybe I should call him' picks up his phone to call...
Phone operator. 'The number you're calling is not available, please leave a message after the...'
Nathan. dropping his phone 'I just hope everything is fine with Gerald?' Paused 'I should try not stressing over this as I know Gerald doesn't keep to time.'
Nathan. Hears a knock 'come on in.'
Judith. 'It's time for the meeting boss...'
Nathan. Taking a sneak peek at the time 'shit!!! I totally forgot... thanks Judith.'
Judith. Excited... 'you're welcome love...' wide eyes, stammers ' sorry.... I... erm ... I meant boss.'
Nathan grins he wanted to protest but decided not to as not to make things more awkward. He picked up his files and strolled down to his meeting with client. Nathan just couldn't focus on his meeting, he kept staring at his phone hoping Gerald will call him yet, no word from him.
Thankfully, the meeting was finally over, Nathan walked briskly out of his office building as he felt chocked and needed air... he then heard his phone ring.
Besty. 'Hello son...'
Nathan. Looking up to the sky and wondering why the day isn't going as he planned. 'Good day mom...'
Besty. 'How's your day going?'
Nathan. 'It's going fine thanks mom'
Besty. 'I'm wondering when you'll have time to drop by with Zane as we'll love to meet him son.'
Nathan. 'I will soon mum, I'll talk to Audrey about it today.'
Besty. 'Ok son, make sure you call later to update us...'
Nathan. 'Ok mum' Paused 'I have to go now mum, I have another call coming in... I'll call later. Bye mum.'
Clicks his phone 'Took you long enough!!!'
Gerald. Snickers 'I'm sorry, my phone battery died... I tracked Sophie to Vegas but she's already left before getting there...'
Nathan. Frustrated 'damn it!!!'
Gerald. 'I'm sorry Nate, maybe it's time to really let go.'
Nathan. Angrily 'no!!! I can't do that bro... I've come too far to give up now...' thinks to himself 'the only way out now is to seduce her!!!'
After talking with Gerald, Nathan walked back into his office. He decided to change direction and walked towards Audrey's department. Nathan was caught by surprised with what he saw... Audrey was sitting while Charlie leaned over behind her staring at her laptop... Nathan's blood ran cold... he couldn't keep his emotions under wrap...
Nathan. Clears his throat... 'Audrey... can I have a word with you?'
Audrey. Surprised to see him 'sure... excuse me Charlie...'
They walked out of the office to the stairway that was deserted...
Nathan. Angrily 'how can you be doing that Drey... in public for that matter...'
Audrey. 'Doing what exactly Nate?'
Nathan. 'What the fuck is going on between you and Charlie?' Paused 'are you fucking him?'
Audrey. Angrily... 'if I am, what does it have to do with you Nate?'
Nathan. Pleading 'please Audrey, calm down... I don't want to fight... I don't want to loose you again, especially not when I just got you back!!!' Walking close to her...
Audrey. 'Don't!!! Nate, please.'
Nathan. Stops... 'incase I didn't tell you, I am still crazy about you D, I don't want to ever let you go...' he moved closer to her that he could smell her shampoo, same cherry flavour... Audrey haven't changed much... leaning closer, he planted his lips on her forehead... he wanted more, he needed more!!! Slightly touching her face, he moved his lips to her mouth. It pleased him that she didn't object... the hunger for wanting her consumed him... he could feel the hardness in his pants... then it hits him.
'Not here, not now but keep it going Nate, you're winning...'
Nathan. Gently pulling away, he whispered 'you're so beautiful baby, I promise you're my forever!!!'
Audrey. Feeling overwhelmed... 'you're still so corny Nate, why do you keep making things complicated?'
