Chapter 3 - Gaining trust.

I showered and got dressed just like he asked me to. We drove to the restaurant where the whole thing happened yesterday.

He asked me to wait in the car while he went to do the findings.

"Good morning" He said picking a chair.

"Morning" the waiter responded.

"Are you the one who was on duty yesterday?"

"Yes. Why did you ask?"

"Was Cora here last night?"

"Yes but she left without we even noticing"

"How??"

"There was a light out yesterday and it lasted for a couple of minutes and by the time the light came back on, she had already left and some other random person had already taken her sit but the customer was drunk already. I wondered how she could get herself so drunk in just some minutes"

"Thanks." He smiled

"Did anything go wrong??"

"No." He walked out.

He got in and slammed the door.

"How did it go??"

"Did you remember when a light out happened last night??"

"A light out?"

"Yes."

"I don't think I can remember that."

"I think I'm starting to believe you cause he said Cora left during the light out and they realised that you had already taken her sit before the lights went back on."

I sighed.

"This seems kinda creepy but now that we have a hint on what happened can we go back home?"

I nodded.

He drove.

He continually starred at me like he never expected Cora to look like this. Like my looks wasn't enough to sate his curiosity.

We alighted and we walked into the house.

"The name's Vie." He said.

I smiled.

"Sorry I doubted you"

"Every normal person would have done that too."

We got into the house.

"Do you have a boyfriend??" He asked.

"No. I don't"

"We all taught you were lying." He chuckled.

"No. I wasn't."

He smiled.

"Do you have a family??" I asked

"No. They all died in a car accident."

"Sorry about that." I responded.

Then he held my hand, that was so strange. I expected him to let go but he didn't. I forcefully let out my hand then he looked at me in the eye.

"I never knew I would get to meet you. I only saw you on TV and imagined if I would ever get to hold your hand but now I have." He said as he smiled.

"But I'm not her anymore. Cora's funeral is already being planned. Now I'm just a random lady who should just focus on laying low for now." I responded.

He starred.

After a very long day with Vie, we talked a lot and I got to know him better.

Late night.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Vie knocked my door.

I got up and unlocked the door.

"I'm expecting some friends and they should be here in some minutes. Can you please come help me clean up?"

Saying no would sound rude so I'm left with no other option than to agree to help.

I joined him and we cleared the house together.

We served the food and placed them on the dinning. I told Vie that I wouldn't be joining them but he disagreed and said I must.

He stares at me with so much excitement in his eyes.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

They knocked.

"I'll get the door." Vie said running towards the door.

I stood at the dinning area and could hear their chuckles and giggles as they approached.

They were all men. I can't believe I'm gonna have to sit among them.

"Who's she??" One of them asked.

Vie cleared his throat.

"Her name's Angel." He responded.

I can't believe he gave me a new name without even telling me.

I smiled

"Angel, meet Logan, Smith and Greg"

We exchanged pleasantries and began to eat.

They were all starring at me every second but I had to pretend I didn't notice.

They talked as we ate but I made sure I didn't get myself Into any of their conversations to avoid questions I would not be able to give answers to.
