Mauve blinked, the first thing she noticed was the drawn curtains. There were candles lit irregularly across the room but the drawn curtains were the major source of light.
She could feel Jael glare on her as she closed the door behind her and walked forward. She couldn't see his face clearly as he had his back to the window.
There was a shelf to her right, it was filled with books but the top held a vase. No flowers, just an old vase sitting atop.
There were two couches in the room, they were arranged directly in front of his desk, the only desk in the room. It was huge and Mauve knew she could lie down comfortably on it.
There was also a fireplace but it didn't look like it had ever been in use. There were other shelves against the war but the corners were too dark to see.
His gaze on her didn't waver and the fact that he had not said anything since she walked in was unnerving.
