Jael's gaze darkened. "Are you done here?" he asked.
Louis pinched the bridge of his nose, now free of bandages. "I suppose I am, as long as you get the hint. Mauve," he nodded in her direction and turned away.
"Thank you, Louis," she called after him, waving.
Jael lay back down, pulling Mauve with him. He used his arm to support the back of his head as he held her to his body. Mauve leaned into him and slowly looked up at Jael. She couldn't tell if he was angry or not.
He glanced down at her without moving his head. "Do you have something you want to say?" he asked.
Mauve shook her head. "I was just wondering if you were alright," she mumbled, looking down and folding her arms to her chest.
"I'm alright, you don't have to worry about a thing. I will be healed up in a few days," he said, ruffling her hair.
Mauve grabbed the top of her head, trying to stop him from ruffling it further. "That's what I told you," she replied.
