Mauve stared at Jael with a dumbfounded look on her face as she spun around to face him while sitting by her dresser. Mill had taken a few steps back, having finished setting her up.
"What did you say?" she asked. Her expression showed she didn't know if she should be impressed or horrified.
"You heard me," he said with a nonchalant shrug.
"I didn't even use any today," she replied in horror.
"Well then, Mill, if you will be so kind," Jael prompted.
"No," Mauve said, glancing at Mill, who looked like she was holding back her laughter.
"You said to remind you next time," he further explained.
"I was merely joking," she retorted.
"I wasn't."
"Jael," she called. "Let it go."
"No, you gave me your word."
"I said a few words. I didn't make any promises."
"We are going to be late for the first meal, Mauve." He walked closer to where she sat. "Are you sure you'll like that?"
