Mauve tried to keep a straight face as she stared at the contents of the cup. It was worse than she imagined.
She looked up at Jael and he gestured with his hand that she should drink it.
Mauve trusted Kieran with her life but the contents of the cup gave her the impression that there would be nothing left of her life if she should dare drink this.
Mauve blinked as she stared at it. The smell wasn't bad. It gave off a mint-like scent and something else she couldn't quite place her finger on.
The color, however, wasn't great. It was dark green. Even in the candlelight, she could see just how green it was and green was never a color she was eager to put in her mouth.
"Just staring at it won't change the fact that you will have to take it," Jael commented.
"I am prepping myself," she replied. Her eyes were glued to it.
