Mauve woke up to Jael staring hard at her face. She smiled, turned her head, and rolled away from him.
"Don't look away," he said.
"What do you expect when you're staring at me so intensely?"
"No, I am not," he whispered and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, you are," she whispered.
He pressed down on her shoulder, rolling her back to him. Mauve pouted and glared at him as he turned her so she faced him again.
"It can't have been that bad," he whispered with a hint of a smile on his lips.
He brought his head closer, close enough to kiss her but he didn't. His gaze moved from her lips to eyes and Mauve blushed and pulled back.
"Yes, you just did it again," she replied, her chest heaving.
He chuckled, the sound rumbling around his chest.
"Not fair," she whispered and tried to roll out of bed but he caught her and pulled her to himself.
"Just where are you going?" He asked.
