Jael sat on his seat close to his desk with an unreadable expression on his face. Lord Levaton was saying nothing as he sat across from him and Jael's expression changed to a frown.
"What is this about?" He forced himself to say when it became clear that the Lord was more interested in a staring competition than telling him the purpose of this meeting.
"Sire," Levaton said, clearing his throat. "I see you have brought the human back."
Jael gave the Lord an unimpressed look. "Surely this isn't what you pulled me out of bed to discuss?"
"No," Lord Levaton said and offered no more explanation.
Jael frowned, his patience running thin. He leaned forward and glared at Lord Levaton. "Pray tell, old vampire, why have you called me out here?"
Levaton chuckled, "It has been a while since you called me that."
