"I will fix this," Jael said, his eyes locking with hers.
Mauve swallowed as the words fell out of Jael's lips. The comfort in them was soothing. She believed him immediately.
She nodded and leaned into him, "Thank you," she whispered as they walked into the dining hall.
Mauve realized all her anxiousness about having to face the Lords was gone. Why wouldn't it be? She had bigger things to worry about.
Compared to what Vae was facing, having to deal with a few vampire Lords while eating almost felt easy.
Mauve winced at the bright lights as they walked in. The lights on the ceiling had been turned on and three tables were set.
Mauve had always wondered why the dining hall was so huge yet they only seemed to use one table. She could see why now.
Jael walked toward their usual seat which was the table that was placed right in the middle of the huge hall and all the Lords stood to their feet.
