"Remind me tomorrow night," Jael said and turned his gaze from Erick to Mauve.
"It would be better to reply and get this over with, Sire," Erick tried to explain but it was obvious Jael wasn't listening.
Mauve didn't miss the glare Erick threw at her, she couldn't blame him. Here he was trying to get Jael to get some work done and she was being nothing but a distraction.
She wondered what the issue with Levaton was. She had assumed Jael was on great terms with the Lord. However, that did not seem to be the case.
She would be lying if she said she didn't notice the change in his expression when Lord Levaton's name was mentioned.
Did something happen? Or did it have something to do with his daughter, Lady Jevera? She returned Jael's gaze and she saw he was still looking at her. Could she ask him?
"Tomorrow night won't be too late," Jael said stubbornly and tucked Mauve's hair behind her ear.
