"My Love," Jael announced as he walked through the connecting door. "I see you're ready."
Mauve didn't know who looked more surprised between her and Mill. Mill, however, recovered quickly as she bowed to Jael.
"Sire," she said and took a step back from Mauve who was still seated by the dresser.
"Mill," Jael said. "Good to see you."
"I heard you came back pretty late this morning, I am glad you got here in one piece," she said.
Mauve watched Mill twirl her hands as she spoke to Jael. Mauve couldn't help but think this was the most Mill had said to Jael without needing to.
"Thank you," he smiled at her. "Are you ready, love?" Jael turned to Mauve.
"I suppose," she whispered.
He closed the gap between them and stretched out his hand to her. "Let's go."
She nodded and accepted his hand. He pulled her up effortlessly, she staggered a bit and had to cling to him to steady herself.
