"Did you sleep well, love?" Was the first thing Mauve heard as she opened her eyes to see Jael staring down at her.
Her eyes widened slightly and she fought to keep her expression neutral but it was hard to do when he called her that.
She couldn't believe he was still talking to her like this. At this point, she was starting to get concerned that he might have hit his head on the way here.
"It was fine," she whispered, turning away from his bright gaze.
Even though she thought that she couldn't help the happiness that was spreading in her chest. She knew if she kept looking at him, he would clearly see this.
"I'm glad." He was resting his elbow on the bed while his palm held his head.
"How about you ?" She asked, glancing away. "Did you sleep well?"
She was hoping he could catch some sleep. She must have been very tired but she didn't even realize when she fell asleep and she had slept without waking up the entire time.
