Mauve couldn't help but feel bad that she had scolded him but he had just been thinking about her.
"Are you still mad?"
"I am not mad," she responded. "But you could have just told me that. You didn't have to make it so dramatic." She smacked him.
"Sorry, I was just thinking about keeping you away. I wasn't really thinking about the words I was saying."
"I shouldn't be scolding you," she said with a big sigh. "How did it go with the estate?"
"Not good," he said and looked away from her. "Can we talk about something else?"
Mauve watched the look on his face and she knew he wasn't trying to keep it from her but this was something he didn't want to discuss now.
"Yes," she said.
"I will tell you all about it later. I just don't want to talk about it now," he responded. "I'd rather talk about you."
"Okay," she said. "You don't have to explain."
