Mauve sat on the bed in her nightdress. The bed was huge and with only her on it, it made this fact quite obvious. She winced at the thought that Jael was still not back.
She knew she wasn't going to get much sleep or any sleep at all. She wanted to stand outside to wait for him but that would only make her anxious.
Here, she could at least pretend he was right out but couldn't come in because he was discussing with other vampires.
In thirty minutes, the sun would be high up in the sky and there was no way Jael would be able to make it to her. She should roll back and sleep but she was willing to hold out hope. After all, what else could she do?
She looked around the huge space in an attempt to figure out what she could do to keep her mind occupied while she waited.
There was nothing, more like there was nothing she wanted to do. She groaned and adjusted so she was lying on the bed.
