"That is good, I was worried you wouldn't be able to get any sleep because of me," she said, her eyes held relief.
"You should never worry about that," he said and sat upright. "I sleep perfectly when you lay next to me."
She blushed a little. 'Perfectly' was a stretch wasn't it but she was glad he had gotten some rest, she could tell needed it.
He didn't look any better than the night before but at least he didn't look worse. He could have waited for her to reach the castle but here he was right next to her side.
"I am glad," he said.
He locked eyes with her as he spoke, stretching out his hand to touch her face. His finger grazed the side of her face and Mauve felt a shiver that reached her soul.
It was hard to tell if it was simply because he touched her or the temperature of his fingers had something to do with it or it was a little bit of both.
