Mauve's eyes fluttered open as the carriage came to a standstill. The lack of movement pulled her out of a light sleep and that was when she realized she had dozed off just a little. She pulled her head from Jael's chest as she sat upright.
"We are here," he said but didn't make any attempt to move. Mauve could see out the window and the sun wasn't out yet. It looked like it wouldn't be long though.
Danag usually rode for a while longer before stopping and sometimes she could see the sun on the horizon before they stopped. It was bit unusual that they were stopping now.
Mauve heard a sound and the door flew open. Louis stood in front of the open door with Danag behind him.
Mauve tried to get off Jael's legs at the intrusion but he stopped her from moving.
"My liege," Louis said with a mock bow. He didn't even hide the amusement in his voice. Mauve could only imagine the sort of expression he had but it was hidden from view.
