Mauve rode the carriage in silence. There was barely anything to talk about and the last person she wanted to speak to was Erick.
She kept her gaze out the window so she wouldn't have to look at him. Suddenly, her stomach growled loudly and out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Erick jerked in her direction.
He squinted his eyes at her, "You haven't eaten?" He asked sarcastically.
"I am not hungry," she said and turned away.
She wasn't, truly. She had completely forgotten she hadn't eaten until her stomach growled.
"Well, you have to eat something. Your stomach has been growling for a while now. Just because that was loudest, doesn't mean it was the only one."
"I am not hungry," she said, still looking away.
Erick gave her an unimpressed look. "I don't care, just eat something even if it is a bite. Just sitting here listening to your stomach growl is a bit irritating."
