"Come in," Jael called out and the door was thrown open.
Danag walked in alone and his eyes immediately zoned in on Mauve as she sat on Jael's legs. The sound of the door closing sounded too loud.
Mauve felt cold at the gaze that met her. It was very brief and if she wasn't looking at Danag, she wouldn't have seen it. She shivered a little and tried to get off Jael's legs but he didn't let her.
"Sire," Danag said bowing slightly.
He took a step forward and stopped in front of the desk. "Princess," he said stiffly. The word sounded like a curse and there was also no smile on his lips.
"Danag," Mauve said softly, her smile upside down.
"What can I help you with, Danag?" Jael said condescendingly.
"I would like us to continue the earlier conversation, Sire."
"Hmm," Jael groaned. "I will let you know when I am ready. You can leave."
