Mauve sat on the bed with a glum expression. Why in heaven's name did he let her tag along if it was going to be like this?
"Ohh!" She groaned. He was taking a little too long with this. She wondered what they were talking about. It wasn't like she could ask him.
The door flew open and Mauve smiled despite herself. She realized and quickly changed her expression to neutral. She looked away as he walked to her.
His coldness to her was bothersome, even as he spoke to her his pitch neither rose nor fell. It was almost neutral. At this point, she was sure she must have offended him at his point.
"Did I do something wrong?" She asked, looking up at him.
"What gave you that idea?" He asked with a blank face. It was annoying that she could even guess what he was thinking.
"Nothing," she said and looked away.
A knock drew both their attention to the door. "Come in," Jael said. He could tell he was still looking at her.
