Max couldn't believe the result. Some of the strategies he used were previously drawn from his contact with professionalist on a few occasions. He decided to come straight to the place the princess was captured. He thought Monica will focus entirely on him because he brought a relatively larger army than her.
His goal was to keep Monica and her gang busy while he infilrated the princess captive room. But he underestimated Monica. At first it looked like she fell into his trap and mobilised all her gang members to fare against Max's army.
But unknowingly to him, the princess he rescued was an imposter from Monica's gang. By the time he realised what was going on, his entire army were locked in the building with nowhere to escape. Monica and her group then escaped through some secret passage and bombed the building Max was in.
Max stared at Monica with a shocked, surprised and complicated look on his face. Monica was already so good at strategy at this young age. How terrifying will she be when she eventually matures??
"Yaaaayy... I won you..." Monica jumped around in excitement. She was so excited that she defeated a god-like existence to her. To be honest, Max plan was flawless. She.didnt really expect him to buy time for his army with his distraction but her long experience told her to always be on guard.
"Congratulations Monica...you won me huh..." Max was all smiles to see Monica excited appearance that he vowed to fail in their next games to come.
"Okay c'mon, we don't have all day let's go search for clues" Max reminded the overly excited Monica as they departed the arcade heading to the horse rides.
"Wait a minute..." Monica came to a sudden stop when she passed by the fountain. "Look in the water" she told Max as she squatted while peering into the water for a better vision.
"Its a statue" they said together. "That wasn't there before" Monica said as she sank in thought.
"Good for us. It should be one of the new items we were asked to look for." Max said as he searched around for something to grab the statue.
"There" he grabbed two funny looking woods, placed them together and pulled the statue out of the fountain with a little water splashing on him.
"This looks like a masterpiece from an exhibition of Jones Corporation. I've seen something similar. But where??" Monica tried to recall where she had seen something similar but could not.
The statue was very small but big enough to be spotted by an observant eye when it was in the fountain. It looks like a huge and giant bird or rather eagle, was standing on top of a tall mountain. The Eagle like bird stood like a proud ruler addressing his subjects with its head held high. It seems like an ancient sort of sculpture giving off a domineering presence but also unique and modernised in a way.
"We don't have time to waste. We will do our research when we get back so let's go with it." Max and Monica then left for the horse rides with an additional something.
"Monica..."
Monica came to a stop when she heard her name. This voice...
"Grandma..." she called out when she saw the nice old lady she always sees in the park. "Monica dear, how are you doing" the old lady said with a happy smile as she embraced her.
"I'm fine grandma. What of you grandma, I hope you are doing well?" Monica asked back after she pulled away from the old lady's embrace.
"This old bag of bones is as healthy as ever" the old lady chuckled. The old and moderately dresses woman was the Madam of the Jones Corporation and the chairman's wife, Kate Jones. She is Monica's maternal grandma.
She fell for Monica the first time she saw her and couldn't help but remember her first daughter Martha. Monica has Martha's tall legs, her pointed nose and mesmerising eyes. She had that determination in her eyes that made her see her own daughter when she looks in them.
Ever since their first meeting, she met Monica every once in a while and their time together was always memorable. She treated Monica like her very own granddaughter and was filled with different emotions when Monica started addressing her as grandma. Madam Jones just consoled herself with Monica's existence whenever she missed her daughter Martha.
"Ahem..." Max who was abandoned aside to watch the grandma and granddaughter duo talk like they have been away for ages let out an awkward cough to indicate his presence.
"Oh I almost forgot, grandma this is my best friend Max, Max meet my grandma" Monica introduced them both as she stood in madam Jones arms.
"Hi...um..."
"You can call me grandma child...or if you aren't comfortable..."
"No worries... I'm okay calling you grandma " Max replied before madam Jones could finish her statement.
"What a lovely friend you have here Monica" madam Jones said with a mischievous smile.
"Grandma, we have to leave now. We have an assignment to complete before 4pm so we have to go" Monica told madam Jones after they chatted for sometime.
"Okay dear. Do well to come see me before you go okay" madam Jones hugged Monica before she left the kids be.
"Okay dear. Do well to come see me before you go okay" madam Jones hugged Monica before she left the kids be.
They arrived at the stable and Monica went to grab her favourite horse, Mara. She always rode her whenever she came and Mara also knows and loves her.
'Neighee' Mara sounded pretty excited when she felt Monica's touch. They didn't waste anymore time as Max and Monica went riding with Mara.
