(I may have gotten sentient and sapient mixed up so assume I mean the opposite for each time it's been mentioned something is sentient before this chapter. I can't be bothered to go back and fix it though so rips.)
Zephyr finished writing on a parchment and sighed. "This should suffice, I have to deliver this real quick so go ahead and do some more tests." Zephyr pulled a blue potion and threw it my way, "Might need that." I caught it. Then stored it
----------
Lesser Mana Potion
Effect: restores 150 mana when drank
----------
It looked simple, a large corked vial containing a blue liquid. "Thanks." Zephyr quickly made his way out and made a hand symbol that I couldn't recognize due to how far he was. Well, lets give something else a try, maybe I should ask them which one I should try next. "Do you guys think I should try Void Tendril or King Of Nothing first?" Quentin spoke first, "Tendril." And next up was Kala, "Tendril." Followed by Fink, "Tendril." And lastly Vex "King Of Nothing." "Alright Tendril it is." When I activated the skill I went with a General Tendril as you would expect, the skill didn't appear yet so I assume I need to set the length, width, and location before it actually activates.
Where should it go? Let's go with my left side, max length but only 0.1 meters thick. Soon a wispy black smoke appeared then it stretched out and disappeared, what was left was smooth black tendril that just kind of fell towards the ground. I saw a little system message near the edge of my vision.

----------
Fun fact, did you know that suddenly gaining a whole ass new limb means your gonna have to learn how to use it, clearly I didn't think about that. I figured I'd be rooted in place due to its large size, but when I tried to move I found it was practically weightless and it raised itself off the ground as I moved, noted, it defies gravity... Neat! It meant it wouldn't screw me over while I learned how to use it. Quentin spoke, "Damn that things long, yeah, that will be useful, no questions about it." It felt dull, like it was a part of me, yet distant. It felt sluggish and I had to concentrate to move it, it wasn't like moving your arm, more like me telling it where to go, except if I stopped willing it to go it would stop dead in it's tracks.
Can I inspect the Tendril? It would turn out the answer is yes.
----------
Dispel Tendril Y/N
General Tendril
dmg: 20

Condensed Void: almost weightless.
A Part Of You Yet not: controlled by will.
Instinctual View: you always know where your tendrils are.
----------
Wow, it's way better than the dagger, but I know how to swing a dagger, so maybe that doesn't count. It's interesting, it's listed like a weapon, no hp stamina or anything, but the answer to that question is in the skill description, it uses that void power stat to heal, I doubt they will ever need to use mana or stamina either. Reminds me, I should inspect that Void constitution stat.
----------
gain 25 void power used for certain skills, has a base regen rate of 48 hours. +3 minor support shades +1 support shades +1 combat shade per point.

----------
Ah I see, it's like a necromancers Control stat or the Plane Walker stat for a summoner, I need more to be able to control more minions, well that comes later. Back to trying to move this damn thing.
----------
By now the sun was starting to set, I spent the whole time getting better at moving the Tendril, I had made good progress, it felt more natural and I didn't have to give it my full attention to make it move. Zephyr had appeared near the edge looking grim. Of course when you get some un heard of class with an unknown grade and suddenly one of your acquaintances is grim after going to tell someone about it, I was worried. It would appear that it was for a completely different reason.
Zephyr exhaled, "Nothin to say about our situation with Kairos, I got something worse than that, deployment orders." Kala who was watching the sunrise across the camp got up and marched over. "Are you fuckin playing with me Zephyr?" "Unfortunately no." She waved her hands in the air,
"This kid doesn't even know how to fight! Do we have no time? I know it was bad before, but have we really lost so much ground to the Belrend Empire that we need to put an untrained operative on the field? Zephyr sighed "It's not about him they just need us mainly, but he is coming along. There's nothing we can do about it. We're going to work with Major General Levictus. He's got an army of 6'500 remaining, they were 15'000 originally. They ended up losing more than half their men when they got ambushed by an enemy Colonel. So we're being sent to assist them."
I grimaced. That's not good. Zephyr spoke. "What have you tested since I left?" "The Tendril, I've been learning how to use it."
"So just King Of Nothing and Void Lord Form remain?" I nodded "Yep." Quentin came over, he had a sour look on his face. "I'm glad we're getting out of this damn place, wish it was under better circumstances." Vex listened to our conversation, he didn't join us though, preferring to continue to sit under the shade of a nearby tree. No idea where Fink was. Zephyr sat down. "Lets give them both a test drive then, King Of Nothing first." And so I activated King Of Nothing.

Damn that's a lot of options, uhhhh, Void Ling I guess.
----------
Warning, be aware that whilst shades are made of mana and are neither sentient nor sapient and are more akin to monsters, Void Lings are living sapient creatures, since you made it that would make you it's parent, as such you are responsible for raising it, they do grow much faster than they're base species though. When created they will be imparted all of your memories that don't relate to your decision to create it. Void Lings use any other species as a base meaning you can have a Void Ling Lizard Kin or a Human Void Ling etc. The choice is yours.
Please choose a base creature.

I went back and decided to go with warrior shades instead

My head was spinning. "Ahhhh." Zephyr looked over. "Are you ok?" I nodded a little, "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." I think for learning how to control them with a warrior would be best, so that's what I summoned, I had regenerated all the mana I needed so I didn't need to use the potion, mana went from 0% to 100% in exactly 10 hours at base, it was 1 hour for stamina but using warrior abilities would tax the body as well unlike mana, so, ya got it much faster, but it had actual drawbacks, for hp it went from bottom to max in 48 hours.
That was besides the point though, a black mist seeped out of my fingers and after slowly formed a impenetrable mist in front of me and once my mana hit 0, the flow stopped, and the gathered mist was sucked into the being that now stood before me.
Yellow cracks dotted it's smooth humanoid black surface, it looked exactly like a Human, except it was made out of some sort of smooth black chitin. According to the skill description I can directly control it so that's what I did, as for it's first order. Fall over, it did just that.
