Chereads / Rank of Knights / Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Chapter 1,

Koshiro's POV

I opened my eyes and looked at my alarm clock. It's just 3:00 AM. I opened my eyes once again after 15 minutes so that I can prepare before going to school.

After some stretching, I got up to cook some rice for breakfast. After starting the fire, I got up and took clothes from my closet and went to the bathroom to take an early bath at the shower. After some time, I came out and looked for my uniform to wear it.

"Shit! My rice! " I exclaimed while swiftly finishing wearing my clothes.

I climbed up the stairs towards my room and picked up my phone beside the lampshade of my bed. I opened my game, Dream Land: World Creator, to explore and continue working on the build on my world. Of course I don't forget the rice that I've been cooking so I checked it first and continued the game where I left off.

Along with the rice being finished, I also stopped playing, then I putted my phone on my pocket and cooked a Sunnyside up egg and hotdog. I placed it along the rice and ate.

After I ate my breakfast and of course drink plenty of water, I grabbed my bag and got out the house hastily.

I saw my cousin Kian and his driver waiting for me to come out. Kian always drive me to school and also picks me up. He already has a driver license but always asks his driver to drive him every single day. I'm jealous.

"Good Morning!" he greeted me with a bright smile.

I got inside the car and whispered on his ear "How long are you planning to drive the car? You're already at the right age? You already have a driver's license? Why not drive yourself? How about our privacy?" I keept on muttering a little close to his ear.

"Fine, fine, next time I promise." he gave off an annoying tune.

"I don't want a promise Kian, I want you to do it now!" I half-shouted.

"Why so hasty, Koshiro? We aren't doing anything weird, aren't we? What privacy?." he chuckled.

"I don't mean anything special about my words! Shut up! Just do it! " I exclaimed in anger.

"I said fine, don't take my joke so seriously, bro." this time he laughed in a very high tone.

"Kian--!" I paused halfway after the car abruptly stopped.

"Sir, sorry for interrupting. We're here" When the driver opened the door, I was surprised when Kian suddenly pulled me out.

"Let me go!" I batted his hand away.

"Okay, okay, fine." there he goes with his another unpleasant words that annoys me.

"Ken Ian!" Mikah excitedly called for Kian her best friend.

Note: Ken Ian Quirobin also known a Kian, my best friend. He's a little weird. He always teases me.

"I'll be going, then." he patted my back and then left with Mikah

Note: Mi-ka not Mayka.

I went straight to my class and entered the room and sat at the last row close to the window and

looked everywhere looking for my friend, Gin.

Note: Gin means silver in Japanese and you also read it like Jin or Gé-n.

He sat next to me and said, "Nothing new, huh?" he raised his right eyebrow.

"Tsk!" I looked away and looked at the window.

I sighed after a few staring "How's your progress? ?" I said in a bored voice.

"Very stressing, I stayed up all night just to finish one level." his face gloomily fell.

"Heh, weakling." I teased him.

"Please, Koshiro, Just one night? ." he forces me.

"Same question, same answer, no." I forcibly denies him. He just want me to level up his Knight.

"Onegaiii, onii-sama." the way he said it made want to commit seppuku.

Note: You pronounce it as Sep-poo-koo. It means Ritual suicide by disembowelment. From Japanese setsu fuki, from setsu (to cut) + fuku (abdomen), ultimately from Chinese. Earliest documented use: 1871.

Extra Notes: Seppuku, also known as harakiri, was the ritual killing of oneself. It was practiced by samurai in Japan. It could be performed in shame for bringing dishonor, to avoid capture by enemy, or as a form of protest. One could be asked to do so as punishment. Also see kamizake.

"Shut up--" I stopped when I heard the door open and our teacher coming inside.

"Ok, Good Morning, Class." our teacher said in a loud voice.

Everyone stood up and exclaimed happily, "Good Morning..."

***

I went to the cafeteria to meet my friends from lower and higher grade to talk about game and anime stuffs.

I sat at our usual seat at our usual table, a seat where nobody sits.

"Good Afternoon," I greeted them.

"Good Afternoon, Koshiro" Kenji smiled.

Note: Kenji means Inteligent Ruler in Japanese.

"Aftie," Mana hastily greeted.

Note: Mana means Truth in Japanese. She is very arrogant and acts and talks like a guy.

I picked to sit at the chair between Kenji and Hiruki. It's Mana, me, Kenji, and si Gin. Maria, Fudo, Goro and Hiruki are also present.

Note: Maria means sea of bitterness and her attitude is like her twin sister's. Mana and their interest is the same and they get along well. And as for Fudo, you pronounce it as Fu-Do, the meaning of the name means God of fire and wisdom. For Goro it means Fifth Son, he is the fith son of his family. And lastly for Hiruki, it means abudant joy and strength. He's also the tallest of all but also the youngest.

Fudo cleared his throat "Ok guys let's start our discussion for today" he chuckled a little "ok everyone, how's your progress on 'Rank Of Knights?'" he asked with a challenging look.

Note: the game "Ranking Of The Knights" is a game created by the oldest in Hiruki's Family. Hiroyuki is the second son of his family.

"I heard there's this secret ite--" Hiruki stopped mid-sentence.

"Okay, stop, stop! No spoilers!" the twins shouted. Everyone looked at them like a star appears in their front and they suddenly sat and kept quiet out of embarrassment.

"Uhm guys, he said progress about the game." Goro reminded.

"I'll go first." I raised my right hand.

"Oh, Koshiro, please tell us your progress." Fudo pointed at me.

"I'm already at the ten ranks of the Knights." I arrogantly said.

They're mouth left opened in surprise. Well, I have nothing else to flex about. I'm the game freak after all.

Note: "The Ten Ranks of Heroes" is the most powerful heroes in the game. And the top five are the ones who defeated the undefeated. Undefeated are the monsters and demons that are very hard to defeat, mostly the 10 ranked heroes are the ones to defeat it.

"What's your rank?" the twins lift me up holding me on my uniform.

"Did you defeated a undefeated? How?!" Gin exclaimed.

"What's the name?" Hiruki asks calmly.

"How many undefeated did you defeated?" my mind went blank.

I batted the twins had away and fixed my uniform, then cleared my throat and they all went to their proper seats and embarassedly looked away "One at a time, can't you?" I raised my left eyebrow.

"Me first." Mana arrogantly said as if she always has the right to speak first.

"Us, first, Mana" she corrected.

"Uh, I'm currently rank 7" I smiled forcedly.

"Next," Gin raised his hands.

"Three Headed Dragon, The enormous Anaconda, Man-Eating Forest, and Land of Storm Demons" he gave me a 'wow' expression. That's expected for me, the game freak. This progress is nothing.

"I said the Last three question in one answer, 'kay?" they nodded in agreement.

***

It was a fulfilling day. But yet very boring. This days will continue until graduation comes, we will all walk our paths that we chosen. I can imagine us working on a game-developing company. Each day is stressed and bags are pulling our eyes down open. No time for sleep, filled with complains from gamers and our bosses. Just thinking about it makes me 'wanna quit being a human now.

I went inside the house after Kian sent me back home and again, I cooked rice for this night. A went to my bedroom and lay on the bed while waiting for the rice to cook. This world surely is boring. Where would fun be? I want to go wherever it is.

"I wish this boring life would end now." I whispered softly to myself.

I closed my eyes and try to imagine if I would be reincarnated in another world and didn't realize what have happened to me. It was dark, frustrating, it makes me suffer. It hurts, my heart aches. I don't want this. My body seemed heavy and empty at the same time.

What's happening?

Is it a dream?

No! The vibe is different.

I opened my eyes while trying to know what happened.

I was so wonder-strucked by what's before my Eyes...

No, this can't be happening!

Word of the day!
