'Ah it seems like I awakened my skill'
I say to myself while dodging the claw attack of one of the beasts. I've always wanted to awaken my skill because of how awesome it is.
There are four types of skills. The spear is one of the many combat type skills. I think I heard in the news once that the protagonist has a sword skill which is also a type of combat type.skill.
I continue to stab and slash the beasts.

My body moves fluidly around the place with gracefulness. It's not very efficient because I can't do too much damage but with the help of Peter I am able to stay ahead of the beasts and stab them when they come near.
'System how many beasts have I killed?'

'Really?' I think to myself.
As I reach the final beast I take hold of the handle tightly in my hand and stab my spear straight through the beast. Its body crumples to the ground and the last of its HP comes down rapidly.

When the beast is dead I remove my spear. I look around me. Peter, as expected, has finished with his own fight by now and seems to be waiting for me to return.
"Good job." I say to Peter while walking back. He replies back, "Yes. You were amazing, I never expected you to be a good fighter". "Aha.." I say trying to play it off by laughing awkwardly.
As we were talking a beast was charging at Peter. It was still far away from him.
"How many did you get?" I asked him trying to distract him from the danger behind him. The easiest way to gain someone's trust is to save them from iminent danger after all.
"Hmm, I would say about seven or nine" he replies.
As he replies the beast gets closer it was ready to attack.
"Watch out!" I said as I pushed Peter to the ground.
My attention shifted back to my prey. I charge towards the approaching beast. Due to my momentum I manage to slam myself into the beast and stab it through its neck with my spear, breaking its neck and causing blood to flow profusely.
The beast fell to its knees.

'Heh..'
"Are you okay?" I asked Peter
. He had some minor cuts from the sharp edges of the beast's claws that pierced through his armour but overall nothing serious. I could see his eyes glittering with admiration.
"Yeah I'm alright." He responded while I lended him a hand to help him stand up. "Let's go finish off the rest." I reply while heading back towards the end of the dungeon.
'System, show me Peter's trust progress's

'Hah..' I can't help but smile at his progress.
I continue running through the dark corridors of the dungeon.
All of sudden I heard a loud bang and I immediately stop in my tracks.
"What happened?" Peter called out
"Nothing" I called back, trying to listen for a second longer. I heard a loud scream followed by a few screams.
"Hey Peter I'mma head this way. I'll catch up to you soon."
I'm curious to figure out what's happening over there. Is it a beast? or maybe..
"Sure I guess."

I continue running through the dark corridors, keeping myself hidden from view and listening to the sound of the screams. My ears were getting tired due to constant repeating the cries. I knew I needed to hurry up so I wouldn't waste anymore time. The sounds were getting louder and clearer until suddenly..
I enter a bush and peak through it.
A group of people on the ground. Their clothes are tattered. They're being ambushed by some kind if beast.

Ah it's a Xreas.
This is an extremely rare beast. They are normally found only in places where it has an abundance of food.
It was around 5 meters in height and looked like a monkey but with long tail and sharp fangs like a snake.
It has black fur covering every inch of its body except for its head and face which were white.
But what is it doing here? Isn't this supposed to be an F ranked dungeon?
Its normally a non-hostile beast except when provoked. What could they have don't to make it this mad.
'Oh..'
I now realize that it seems to be protecting something behind it.
It's egg!
They must have been trying to get it's egg so they could later sell it after the exam.
Now that I think of it..
'System can I recruit beasts?'
[Yes but it is rather difficult to recruit a grown beast]
'How about an unhatched beast'
[You may only do so if it is without it's mother]
Hm..
The acreas was moving closer to the group of people. It was about 6 meters away from them. It was going to attack now...
I start running towards the group of people.
[You are going to attract its attention!]
I ignore the system warning and instead focus on reaching the egg. Once I reach the egg I pick it up.
The Xreas is attacking the group it hasn't noticed me yet.
"AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH"
I hear the screams of the group members.
The cries have stopped. They must have pressed the button or maybe they were to adamant and died.
I put the egg in my pouch and leave the scene before the Xreas spots me. I sprint as fast as my legs would carry me. I turn around and check to make sure that I have lost them. I don't see them anymore.
After creating a fairly big gap between I and the beast I stop to rest for a while. My stamina is still level 1 after all.
I walk down the corridor once again.
'Peter went this way right?'
I look around and realise that he's no where to be seen.
Before I can react Peter appears out of nowhere, startling me greatly. I quickly turn around facing him.
"Where have you been?" Peter exclaims.
"Sorry about that, I was just checking something."
"Were you able to kill any beasts?" I ask him.
"Well.." he replies while glancing around
"You didn't kill anything?"
"Nope" he replied with a grin on his face
I frown. Why isn't he worried about getting a low rank? Shouldn't he be more anxious then me?
I check my watch.

18 points should be enough. It's not bad considering that Ill have a pretty high score on the mental exam. And as a result I won some time for myself. I also managed to collect a large amount of EXP which is a huge improvement compared to the first time.
"How about we take a break, I'm exhausted" Peter says as he starts stretching his limbs. He yawns and rubs his eyes.
He takes a deep breath and sits down on the floor.
His position is really comfortable looking like he is on a beach or sitting inside a chair.
I sigh and sit next to him. I close my eyes to let the exhaustion consume me whole.
