"Marriage shouldn't be decided impulsively" I walked out of the office, I couldn't take anymore of this marriage talk.
Walking down on the stairs, I bump into an un familiar face. I wasn't informed there's a guest. I scanned his whole feature , deep blue eyes. He was tall, slightly long raven haired, well refined jawline, pointed nose, pinkish lips, downturned eyes and a slightly thick brows. I slightly bowed my head, so as to not stare too much. I hurriedly made my way pass him after exchanging small greetings.
The talk about my marriage, my father and I are always on a debate everytime it's brought up. I have no plan on starting a family in this world, I've been here for 25 years, I still have no plan of giving up. I need to go back to my family, friends and to my world. Everything in this world isn't plausible for someone like me who believes in science. I may be bad at it but I don't think magic is anything explained by any scientist.
I came here around many years ago. All I can remember was being was in a tight but comfortable space. It's too dark to see but I wasn't unaware of someone's presence beside me. Not long later, I was pushed out of the tight place . Some time later, things started coming to life. Confused as to why my consciousness was in a baby's body, I tried talking but all that came out was gibberish words. Like a baby I was,my routine was sleeping, eating, whining and the occasional bath. Drowning in confusion, trying to understand a word they say. After some time, I adjusted to their way of speaking. Growing up into a hipper toddler, I tried pleasing the adults by plastering my gummy smile to get some treats which I came to like since coming here. When I learned how to walk for the second time, I started searching for a way to go back home, to my home. After a decade and a half of searching and finding nothing, my hopes was going down. The more time I spend here, the less hope I had on going back. Until I reached my twenties, I decided to stop searching and accept the new life I'm living in. Two decades of searching, every other day I find my self questioning what I was doing. I can't even remember who I was, I don't remember what I look like, my family looks like, who are my friends and relatives. I don't have any memories of them, I just know that I yearn for them.
The whole family was sitting around the long dining table for lunch. Turns out the man from earlier was Duke Kalixto, a Duke from the capital. I don't know what he's here for nor do I care. Father wasn't even trying to hide his intention on having Caxxandra marry Duke Kalixto. It was obvious but Duke Kalixto doesn't seem to be interested , he's either ignoring it or he's just insensitive, he's one of those mysterious people who doesn't talk much.
Caxxandra the 3rd child of Grand Duke Durchsen, my sister. The visual of this family is no joke, just looking at Caxxandra, her long wavy brunette hair, slightly tanned skin, dark eyes , perfect nose and lips. A living definition of beauty.
"Father, I can handle myself and find a decent man" Caxxandra reasoned. "I do not mean that the Duke is not a decent man, what I mean is I want to look for someone who I love" she added, to avoid the Duke from misunderstanding.
"I have been waiting for your so called 'decent man' to come to me and ask for your hand for years now"
After Caxxandra convinced Father to leave the marriage to her, Father stood up from his seat.
"The Duke and I have some important thing to discuss" The Duke who has finished eating a little while ago, thanked us for the meal before leaving along with Father.
I was informed that the Duke would be staying here for a while because of the project which seemed to be the thing they've been discussing for the past few days now.
I'm currently in the library reading books related to magics. The most common Magic Elements: Air, Water, Fire and Earth, these elements are the most common elements magicians can posses. Aside from this four there are many other elements that people can posses: Lightning, Ice, Flower, Plants, Light, etcetera.
I have manifested Lightning around 9 years ago. It was a good element, too good for someone like me. I didn't go to any academy to learn magic. I spent my time in researching for ways to go back to my world, in my father's library.
Later that afternoon I'm sitting at the gazebo, having tea. This is where I'm usually at, just staring at nowhere and not thinking about anything. I love the smell of roses and the company of small animals.
My back was leaning against the chair, face resting on my palm. Upon hearing footsteps, my eyes turned to see who it was. My eyes met this familiar deep blue eyes, for the second time.
My eyes went to the person walking in front of Duke Kalixto, Father. I got up to formally greet them.
"Get us some snacks and ask the maid to prepare tea, serve it in the gazebo" I went to the kitchen and ordered the maid to prepare the snacks, I signed at my now ruined peace.
I went back carrying the tray of bisquits and a tea pot with two tea cup. I feel like they're talking about something confidential, not something someone like me shoudld hear. I put the tray on the table ready to leave but was stopped when Father spoked to me.
"Ehroz, come to my office later" he stated.
I was in my room staring at the ceiling with nothing in mind when I heard a bang from the window. Like a smart guy I was I decided to ignore it.
'I wasn't about to open the window like some idiot in horror films...films?...what are films?' he thought, thinking about the unfamiliar yet familiar word.
After a few more moments I heard the glass shattered making me sit on my bed which I winced at the little headache from suddenly standing.
I turned to look at where it came from, only to see an eagle slowly sneaking in. Seems like it hasn't notice me yet. It took him a while to notice my presence, it stared at me for a few seconds before turning around, attempting to escape. It slipped on the piece of glass making me chuckle. I picked it up, it stared squirming from my touch. I'm not just gonna let you go after you broke my window. I sat down on my bed resting the eagle on my lap.
"You just broke my window, how are you gonna make up for it?... I don't eat roasted eagle" it let out a high-pitched twit.
"Ohh, you actually understand me. I'm joking stop whining, or I'll break your wings" it tried to bite me, good thing I dodged my finger.
"Stop or I'll roast you" it stared at me for a while before looking away.
"Why are you here?" I laughed, feeling dumb for asking a bird as if it can reply.
"You just broke my window" I said, it looked at me. It tilted its head still staring at me, cute.
I chuckled before laying down while holding the bird above me. It's my first time seeing an eagle.
'is it mad or is that it's normal face?'
"I'll let you go but don't escape, or I'll roast you" I threatened showing my pointer finger to it with a little lightning flashing around it. It seemed to really understand me since it did stay still. It was standing beside me staring at me, it's head slightly tilted.
"Cute" I petted it slowly to which it seems to enjoy. It marched up to my chest, looking down on me.
