Chapter 39 - Mana Reasoning III — Ambrosya

The following day came, and the first thing I did upon waking up was writing my answers down on a piece of paper. I took a page from my desk and took one of the pens supplied by the room.

I then sat down and began to write.

The underlying principle within the interface is the concept of paint and canvas. The spells, Illusion and Elemental Manipulation are vital components that the interface is built upon...

...A total of 38 mana programs were used...

...It is thus clear that the purpose of the interface is imagery and videography.

A thousand words sprung from my pen and stained the page. My handwriting wasn't the best given the unfamiliarity I still had with this body, but it got much better towards the end of the essay. I decided to rewrite everything while I made edits to my sentence structure and wording.

When I was finished, I was satisfied with my answers. I then took a separate piece of paper and began describing the image I had seen and how I had seen it.

When the following conditions are met,

-Planetary Knob A, 34°, 3:02

-Ring A Setting, 1.3521° N,

-Ring K Setting, 103.8198° E

-Circle C, F, Z...

-...

-...

Then there is an image (i) created with the following description...

When I was finished, I sighed in relief. Being in school and doing schoolwork in a world that was no longer Earth was a jarring feeling. I was still in college when Earth changed, thus preventing me from completing my degree. Now I was taking an exam for college once more.

...And it was likely that I wouldn't be able to complete my years here as well.

I chuckled as I looked at the time. I spent about two hours in the flow state, and now I was starving. The building I was in had a cafeteria on the second floor. Perhaps I could go there.

"I might as well have a taste of the school's food." I mumbled to myself, "I recall that I gave Aethercaller some pretty good chefs and shops to get food from. I wonder which one actually suits my tastes..."

Placing my papers into an envelope, I headed out. I took the Liqu-Mana Elevator. An elevator that worked like hydraulics. Mana was pumped into a tube or rapidly drained out, allowing the elevator to climb and descend at will.

It was a ride that wasn't any different from normal elevator rides, save for the beautiful hum of mana that came with each surge.

I arrived at the second floor of the building and saw quite a few examinees moving around. Instead of a cloak, this time I was wearing a short-sleeved, leather-padded hoodie and a scarf that covered half my face.

The scarf itself was one of the items I had taken from the dungeon near Gobble. It was enchanted with Temperature Regulation, keeping my neck and head at just the right temperature.

Upon arrival, there was a waiter waiting for me behind a countertop. I showed them my ring, and after a quick resonation, they let me in.

I went one round around the food court and spotted a stall that was selling food that could be said to cater to my tastes. It wasn't something I detailed in my book, which was a pleasant surprise.

I remembered crafting the culture behind it and saying that a few restaurants born from their cooking style had popped up around the continent, so this must have been a bonus effect from those sentences.

Anyways, the dishes they served were basically from a hypothetical culture of what if Asian countries did not have access to the sea.

Seafood no longer became an integral part of their dishes, and yet they still came up with a similar menu to Earth's Asian countries. All through freshwater and other special beasts that I created for them.

Thus, I now had a bowl of what was akin to tonkotsu ramen, a box of xiao long bao, and iced tea. I then carried my tray around, looking for a place to sit.

I swiftly found a place.

"Hi," I said, as I laid my tray down beside a familiar face. "Lily, right?"

I was glared at, yet Lily said nothing. She simply flipped her long black hair behind her shoulder and continued eating.

With a chuckle, I sat down.

"All the other seats have owners. Don't take it out on me, alright?"

No reply.

I shrugged and began eating. I ate whilst ensuring I spilt not a single piece of my food or splashed even a bit of my soup. Being a messy eater was not something I was quite fond of.

Realising that I was only there to eat, Lily eased up before my eyes. Though she was still stiff, and very much bothered by my presence, my silence and cleanliness was something she appreciated.

We ate in silence.

Until another familiar face arrived.

"Uh," Virion laughed awkwardly, "There are no other seats available..."

I gestured to Virion, signalling it was alright. Lily continued eating as if he did not exist.

"...Thanks,"

Virion sat down and began eating. He was different from me despite my meticulous nature. He didn't even seem to be trying as he ate with grace. His back was straight and nothing about his image screamed "messy."

He ate fast, but not too fast. His use of his utensils was perfect, clearly an indication of years of etiquette training.

Just as I set it to be, it was Lily who was the least graceful or clean among us three when it came to eating. Although she was still clean, it wasn't to my level. She was also trained in etiquette, but she did not exude the same aura that Virion had.

It was an amusing display of our stats.

After all, Lily only had an Average [ Charisma ] talent.

Virion's [ Charisma ] was High, and mine was Very High.

I finished eating first, leaving them with a single, "Goodbye."

I then walked through the arched halls of Aethercaller, admiring its flawless white marble structure until I arrived before another Liqu-Mana Elevator.

I then ascended to the 4th floor of the building I found myself in, walked through a sky bridge, and arrived at Deuzetai's Wizard Tower. Here, I found one of Deuzetai's assistants and handed her my answer sheet.

Startled and wide-eyed, the wizard assistant accepted my paper.

"Thank you," I said before leaving.

I now had a lot of free time.
