Chapter 1 - -1-

This morning, the atmosphere in Meta's room was quite quiet. Not as busy as when her friends came to visit. Especially now, beside Meta is her mother, who is sitting with her head down deeply. Everyone looked so awkward as if they weren't a real family. It was as if they had been separated for thousands of years until finally, they seemed reluctant to ask for news.

Meta swallowed her saliva several times, although she is now quite happy with her mother's arrival, but she also doesn't deny that the pain her parents have inflicted since she was little until now has piled up into a volcano that is even ready to erupt. Again, she took a deep breath, then she glanced at her mother in silence.

While she opted out at Yoga, she wanted to give the two of them space to talk. Every now and then, she tilted her face, as if she knew reluctance had enveloped the two of them.

"How are you, love?" The question escaped Asih's lips, for a moment she looked at Meta, who turned her gaze towards her, she seemed to understand, then she lowered her gaze again deeply. "Your father has been arrested by the police, and according to the police his mistake was really very fatal. It is very likely that he will receive a severe sentence, hopefully, it is a life sentence," she continued.

Meta turned her head after her mother said that, then she smiled bitterly. "Aren't you afraid that if he goes out, you will be beaten again as usual? Usually, you will immediately obey when he threatens you like that..." Meta quipped. Her eyes now felt hot, she looked up many times, so that the tears wouldn't just fall. "I used to think Mother was a very hypocritical person. Willing to lose money, and willing to defend my father to death just because of love. In fact, when I left the house because I couldn't stand the attitude of Father who was always evil and hurt me, and Mother also, Mother didn't seem to care. Mother didn't try to find me, and hugged me, fighting for me as your child to stay by your side no matter what the risk. I felt at that time, that love was really something stupid, marriage was the most selfish bond I've ever had. I know. Because of love, a woman willingly beats her husband, willingly spends her money on her husband, and willingly loses her child. What kind of love is that? What kind of relationship is it? If both of them have hurt each other, isn't it better to separate, so that there is no more who is sick or injured? But Mother still holds on to the painful relationship firmly," Meta lowered her face, then she rubbed the tears that trickled down her cheeks.

"But I think what you did was right, after I met Yoga, I finally knew what love is like. Love is a really stupid thing. I was willing to almost die because of love, right? Because I love Yoga as if all the pain won't be able to stop everything. Because I love Yoga, I'm not even afraid of the angel of death coming to pick me up anytime. But there is one thing that I still hold on to, I am doing this because Yoga also loves me. Because Yoga is also fighting for me so hard. But between Father and Mother? Did Father defend Mother? So how come the kite that has been broken will still be held tightly by Mother? The one with Mother's hand will bleed or break, and the kite will disappear and will never come back. That's the difference between my love and Mother's love. A love that is still logical, and the other is a very selfish love."

"I admit, you are wrong. I am stupid..." said Asih at last, "You used to think, if only your father was given the slightest chance, maybe he would change. I used to think that one day your father would be moved, then he would turn into what he used to be. But you know, hope is only a hope that cannot come true. And I am too stupid to hope for something that is impossible to change. Until finally, you lose your most precious treasure, namely you, Meta," Asih gripped Meta's hand tightly as if she wanted to prove that she was serious now. "You're tired, you're tired, you keep getting beaten up, you keep paying your father's debts, and... and have to serve the people your father owes so that the debt is said to be paid off. You're really disgusted with yourself. But what's more What disgusts me is, why is your heart still hoping that your father will change? I am really stupid. In the end, what Yoga said really slapped your consciousness. How come I have been blinded all this time, you have to be silent, and pretend - pretend not to see when My child was treated unfairly by her own father. Starting from a bed video, also something that almost took the life of my daughter. I don't want it; I don't want it to happen again. I don't want to be trampled by your father again And I want to protect the only treasure that is most valuable to you."

Meta seemed to be biting her lower lip, tears had already spilled out from hearing her mother's story. Her chest felt tight, but she was very relieved because of her mother's explanation. It was as if what had caused her mother pain all this time was gone. Is it selfish of Meta to wish that her father would be even better off leaving this world for good? So that her father never disturbs or disturbs her life and her mother again.

"Mom, I want to be like other children. I can feel the full parental love. I can feel living at home with the people we call family. I really want to feel that."
