Eli's shoulders slumped and her mouth pouted. "It seems he doesn't like me."
Yorris's eyes scanned his wife. "What caused him to dislike you, could it be because of your appearance?"
It was indeed Yorris' nature to always be annoying, but being insensitive and then blaming Eli's appearance was highly unethical. Even though Eli was ugly she was chosen by Yorris himself for revenge. Yorris's taste is terrible as is his humor.
"This ugly woman is your wife and Stephan senior doesn't like her because of that fact. How can you appoint a wife as secretary?"
Yorris blinked a few times before letting out a breath. He had nothing to blame, the fault was himself for making a rash decision.
"I'm sorry to put you in this position but it was part of the plan, with you being my secretary Cindy will be seeing you often. She must be fed up."
"Never mind. I have to do some paperwork. See you later."
Yorris immediately glared, not used to being treated like that by office employees. Eli immediately left without asking permission or at least waiting for Yorris to order her to leave. The woman must be taught the manners of being a secretary.
"Wait."
Deep voice complete with a tense atmosphere. Eli practically turned around and realized she must have made a mistake.
"That's not how you treat your boss. I know you failed to become an employee, but your attitude must be changed. Given your attitude and performance, it's no wonder you were never appointed as a permanent employee."
Yorris's words immediately hit Eli's heart. But all true, Eli lacked manners. Her indifference towards someone's presence is so ingrained that it cannot be changed.
Eli lowered head and clutched her blazer. "I'm sorry Mr. Then I'll excuse you." Eli bowed again hoping Yorris would let her go.
"Go back to your room."
"Okay, Mr. Thank you very much."
Wasting no time Eli went to her room. On the way she grumbles, "His secretary is unprofessional, regardless of how I replace him, he still has to carry out his duties. He also didn't get fired. Can't he care a bit about not seeing people from the outside, why can't he see the positive side of me?"
"No positives from you."
Eli fell backward into the door in shock. From Stephan's attitude, it was likely that the person was doing it on purpose.
Although annoyed Eli bowed respectfully to Stephan. "Please guide me senior."
"I won't help you," Stephan concluded indifferently. He chewed gum and inflated a balloon then it burst right into the front face of Eli.
"Then I also don't ask for your help nicely because you make it quite difficult for me."
"Oh my God, I'm scared."
Stephan's neatly styled hair fell apart in an instant. Yup, Eli grabbed her senior's hair. Eli feels herself to be good, does not argue, and is willing to be scolded as long as he is guided properly, but as a senior Stephan's attitude is out of bounds. Eli could fully understand the position of a secretary she didn't deserve, but that wasn't a reason Stephan could treat Eli badly.
"Ah... Take your hands off my hair."
"You deliberately didn't tell me about the meeting schedule with Xier Corp today."
"I will sue you for maltreatment."
In the end, Eli lets go of Stephan's hair. "Do what you want." Eli sighed and then went to her place. To be honest she was a bit afraid of Stephan's threat but wouldn't show it.
When reached her desk Eli's legs were shaking. Eli wished she wasn't so obvious.
"You bar-bar girl."
Eli slightly scratched her head inwardly feeling guilty for ruining her senior's neat hair.
"I'm sorry. It's just that even if you don't like me please don't be mean."
"I don't want to listen."
Eli saw Stephan focus in the mirror to rearrange his hair. Even at the desk the person there is hair oil. Eli couldn't stop thinking how much Stephan cared about hairstyle.
"Excuse me to see your work, senior."
"Hey don't come near my table carelessly."
It was too late, Eli was nimble enough to reach Stephan's table instead of listening to his ramble. Something that Eli was looking for found. Rish Corp office files.
"What file is this, Rish Co...?"
The laptop was immediately forcibly closed while the files on the table were taken by Stephan.
"Corp." Eli's expression was a mix of confusion and shock. "I also saw the name Yorris Jordan, he must be the CEO."
"Don't jump to conclusions."
Eli clucked and her index finger moved left and right against Stephan. "I said I saw it."
As if had been crushed by a ladder, Stephan was so angry that he accidentally damaged painstakingly repaired hair.
"Listen to me, pretend you don't know about this."
"Why?"
"He doesn't trust you. Who believes in a woman who is willing to sell her self-esteem and body for money? You are someone to be avoided."
Ah, maybe Eli asked the wrong question. She should have used another sentence to silence Stephan's razor-sharp mouth.
"Okay." Eli nodded not wanting to talk about herself anymore. Eli's goal was Rish Corp, not her pride or where did Stephan know about Yorris's pact with her.
"Now I wonder why you hate me to the point of making things difficult for me at work. Is there another reason?"
"There isn't any," Stephan answered quickly while glaring at Eli. The atmosphere of hostility was palpable.
Eli slightly approached Stephan while the other person backed away. Just one step and Eli didn't want to take action that would lead to misunderstandings.
"Are you sure it's not because of Miss Cindy? She's the one who hates me because she feels out of competition."
"Hey, self-aware. How could Miss Cindy lose to you? You're ugly!"
Eli closed her eyes not in shock but to drown out Stephan's booming voice. A man's voice when screams very loudly.
"That's why. Seeing your attitude you two must be in collusion."
"Watch your mouth."
"What is this?"
Eli and Stephan's eyes glanced at the door in unison. There Yorris looked bored and annoyed at the same time.
