The white dragon descended on Kan with enormous speed and strength behind it. As it crashed into Kan, it released a burst of energy from its mouth.
Unlike Kan who spat the hottest fire ever known, the white dragon spat some form of energy that was a mix of blue and red.
The weight of the force of the white dragon crashing on top of Kan with its humongous feet further drove Kan into the ground. Then the blue-red energy hit Kan on his head and at that moment, a mighty roar was released as for the first time since gaining the power of a dragon, Kan felt physical pain.
Kan swiped with his huge paw and hit the white dragon on him off. Then staggered back up with his gigantic size and released yet another roar.
The white dragon was tossed over to the ground and its weight further created a huge crater. It got back to its feet as its eyes locked with Kan's who was up in the air.
"Another dragon? Why didn't I sense it on arriving here? Surely this much energy should have been announced a mile away. But the strange thing is this one appears to be but purely a beast. It's wild and emotionless. I must put an end to it!"Kan thought.
The area Kan had landed had a crater that was six kilometres wide. The white dragon gave a roar of its own but didn't stop there as it released yet another straight beam of energy at Kan. This time, Kan flapped his wings and dodged the hit. But the same could not be said for the surroundings as an unfortunate mountain in the way of the beam had taken the shot and immediately a part of it was burnt through completely.
The power these two great beasts showcased was beyond what Tan and Lan imagined. Tan and Lan knew from the first attack already that Kan while not being impervious to the white dragon's blast, was durable enough to take a direct hit and not fall apart as the mountain did.
Kan flew in like a thrown projectile at the white dragon and with his mouth wide open, Kan unleashed his firepower as well.
Another explosion sound was heard and the earth shook. Kan's red ball of energy flew over to the white dragon and hit it. The force from it caused the white dragon to tumble over a couple of times but after a while, it dug its big claws into the ground and regained balance.
But Kan was on its tail. The white dragon saw this so it took to the sky heading in the direction of Kan. As the two forces collided, it sounded like a clap of thunder going off. The two great beasts exchanged blows for blows multiple times and after a while, the clear winner was in sight.
Kan wrapped his tail around the white dragon's neck while in the air and began to fly to the clouds again. But as Kan flew up, something was changing about him.
His black scales began to glow and started radiating a golden light. His eyes glowed fiercer than before as the spikes on his back retracted and a mighty roar escaped his mouth yet again.
Kan held onto the white dragon by its neck and took it further into the clouds.
Beneath them on the ground, Tan and Lan together with the twins, Kilga and Silvia watched on. There was nothing they could do to interfere at that moment given the beasts were out of reach.
All they saw were flashes of light in the clouds and loud sounds that sounded like a rumble of thunder.
But they weren't the only ones present and watching. Four other females had joined them and were standing together. Three out of the females were older looking than the last one. The last female held onto a sword that looked like it had been made out of stone.
Other than her, one of the older females also held onto another sword that looked to be smoother than the one the younger of the females held. Together, all eight figures were the last surviving beings standing in the midst of the chaos.
Another explosion went off and all that was seen was a body falling from the skies at an incredible speed. The body falling was that of the white dragon. As it crash landed, it scraped up large rocks and pieces of earth along with it while its hard scaly back skidded across the ground.
The white dragon remained on the ground not moving. After several moments of silence, another loud explosion sound went off and a golden sphere of light was seen descending at an incredible speed.
This was Kan and he was looking to finish off the white dragon. The white dragon opened its mouth one more time and attempted to release its blue-red blast. But all that resulted from this attempt was black smoke. It had been beaten beyond its limits. Its single horn on its forehead had been broken off in the exchange with Kan.
As Kan descended with force engulfed in the golden glow, he focused his eyes on locating something. Something he thought could possibly kill even a beast like him should it be damaged. He locked in on the core of the white dragon.
But on his descent, while focusing on the white dragon, he noticed that something was beginning to happen to the dragon.
Immediately, Kan with all his sheer power took a detour and changed trajectory and seconds after, Kan crashed into the ground creating a deep hole that his body continued to dig further.
After stopping himself from splitting the world in half, Kan clawed his way back to the surface and as he re-emerged, he confirmed his suspicions to be right. There was no need to take a life that was already dwindling.
Kan could see the golden energy within the dragon's core at its chest area flickering. This was a sign that it was near its death. He had seen this happening with so many other beasts once they were close to their death. One special character trait he discovered was that all beast-like beings had the same cores.
But that was not why he had stopped himself from killing the dragon. He sensed something else while looking for the dragon's core.
And just to confirm his suspicions, the white dragon he fought that was nearly the same size as he was began to shrivel down until it returned to a state that shocked him. All along, he wasn't fighting with a beast. He was fighting with one of his own.
"You are human," Kan said in his dragon voice and this travelled far and wide. Kan took a good look around and could see the destruction he had caused. The land was bare and barren. No vegetation in sight. Mountains had collapsed in the course of his battle.
But somehow, all of that didn't hurt him as much as the destruction he had done to one of his own.
"You talk about being blameless like you are a saint. Just like me, you are just as dirty and deceitful. You pretend as though you just found out I have been seeing your wife, Martha. When the truth is you knew all along right from the moment you returned to take us to YOUR oasis. But you hid knowing the truth from me. You nursed your anger and bitterness for me. And when my wife who also found out about my affair with your wife came to you, you didn't hesitate to take your pound of flesh. She confessed to me the deed she had done. And I forgave her for I too made similar mistakes. Yet you on the other hand who took in the wife of his younger brother kept plotting my demise!!!"Lan said with red glowing eyes.
" You were never meant to experience joy. You pride yourself on being our backbone. Yet you know very well your existence is meaningless without us. All you have ever successfully done is lose everything you claim to own. First your wife, then your brothers and then your control over us! But dear brother, you have just lost the biggest achievement you have ever made without even realizing it. The very same beast you have been fighting is your daughter, the seed you sowed in my wife!!!. And you know the worst of it all, you will never get to hear her speak words to you," Lan shouted these words to Kan.
Throughout all the time Lan was talking, Kan had transformed into his human form and descended into the huge crater made by the white dragon.
In the crater was a body lying down unmoving. As kan walked closer, his eyes met with the one who was his daughter, Ayar.
Ayar who was initially Lan's daughter was actually Kan's seed. As Kan approached her, he fell to his knees and cupped Ayar's head in his palms. He examined her body and could see that she had taken quite a beating from him. But one injury stuck out to him and it was the hole in her neck.
Straight away, his mind went back to the words Lan had said. Kan held onto Ayar tightly without saying a word. For he knew he had made a grave mistake.
The once chaotic battleground had fallen into stiff stillness. Kan even in his human form still had access to some of his dragon traits and he watched on as Ayar's core flickered some more before it finally went dark. His daughter died in his hands.
"I have made so many mistakes in my life. Trusting blindly, loving unconditionally and caring to a fault. But there is one mistake I won't make and that is allowing my mistakes to live on. My brothers are my biggest mistakes and so they must be erased. Not even death can deny me this. The curse of the hearts of the gods must not be allowed to live on. I will end it. I will end it all.."

"It's okay. I know the rest of the story from here," Finn said to Tiwa, his dream bug.
All the while, as Tiwa narrated the story, he was made to see as it all happen through a prism that appeared in the white room. He watched all that went on with Kan and his brothers and at the moment, he was shedding tears.
"I will finish the story myself," Finn said.
