Finn had never taken a liking to vampires for one singular reason, blood. As a baby in his previous lives on multiple occasions, he wound up becoming a blood meal the moment his scent became apparent.
Vampires had a heightened sense of smell. Far beyond that of humans. They were physically more durable, stronger and quicker than humans themselves were too.
But they had two major things that they considered as weaknesses. The first one was the sun, and then the second one was their food, blood.
Their bodies encountered difficulties with anything other than blood. But then again, they only thirst for certain kind of blood, humans.
Humans were their one true blood bank. And at the front of all the vampires dressed in nun-like gowns, was a large centre stage and there were humans put on chains and shackles forced to their knees.
Three vampires were on the stage as they were dressed in the same nun-like gowns coloured black like every other vampire in the vicinity.
The humans were brought up to the central figure. A vampire of large size. He perhaps was the only vampire that could be described as fat amongst the thousands that were present there. When a human was brought to him, he would bend down and pick said human up by the throat.
Putting aside the unhealthy appearance of the human he had picked up as his ribs and virtually every bone in his body was out on display through his flesh, what was being seen now was the strength of a vampire. Easily picking a human by the neck irrespective of said human's condition was no small feat.
The robust vampire walked onto the endpoint of the stage he stood on were several vampires surrounded a large bowl. The bowl was perhaps as gigantic as the entire set stage which was enormous on its own.
The vampires surrounding the stage had a special crest on their shoulders. A red drop of blood resembling a falling tear. These were the vampire guards at the command of the robust vampire ruler who stood on the stage with the human in his hand.
The vampire guards weren't turned to the stage like everyone else. Instead, they faced the large assembly of vampires and had their long fangs bared out with their sharp elongated claws and red eyes threatening any vampire that dared step forward.
"Finn, this is your first blood day. Our new ruler grants us access to fresh blood every 14 days. And you are about to get your first fresh blood, son" Finn's mother said.
Finn on the other hand just like the other vampires around on perceiving human blood, his eyes automatically changed colours.
Now the golden circle in his left iris shone more pronounced and the red-ringed one in his left eye too became essentially brighter. He was in a blood lust stage.
Everyone around there was but some adult vampires knew how to control themselves in situations like this. A vampire blood lust was a state that not even they knew how it worked. They would simply lose control of themselves as their senses went from zero to a hundred.
Finn now could hear multiple heartbeats all at once. His eyes dilated and his fangs grew out of his mouth cutting his lips. His claws had elongated more than before and now he stood hissing at a spot.
His mother and every other person around shifted away. Not because they were scared. No, as a matter of fact, the children were first in line.
With a single slash of his index finger, the vampire ruler who held a human on the stage had slit the human's throat. Immediately after he performed this action, several hisses were heard and behind all that sound, tiny whimpering sounds of the humans back on the stage who waited for their turns to be killed wept.
This was the routine that the vampire ruler solely controlled and the entire nest were behind him.
The vampire ruler squeezed on the neck of the dying man who struggled for breath but at the same time saw his blood spilling away into the large collection of blood.
His blood would only make such little difference as the tank it was being squeezed into had barely gone anywhere above its minimum point.
Several more humans were going to die for the vampires to feed. Now with no more blood coming out of the now-dead man, the robust vampire ruler tossed him out like a rag to the crowd of vampires.
Seeing this, the vampires in the crowd gave way and allowed the man's corpse to hit the crowd, that was the signal.
Hundreds of smaller vampires like Finn himself made a beeline for the corpse. In a matter of seconds, several hundreds of them were on top of the corpse ripping apart body parts not to eat them. But in search of any blood residue.
A complete show of savagery was on display and the parents of these younglings like Finn's mother cheered their younglings on.
"Wow, your boy for his first time is quite the ruthless one, Agatha, "A female vampire who now stood next to Finn's mother said to her.
Finn's mother who went by the name Agatha nodded in acknowledgement and said,
"He is after all spawned from our mate, "and to this, they both laughed.
Now in the heap of vampire kids who ripped the dead man to pieces, Finn was having the time of his life.
He dug in and ripped the man's gut right open and the blood-stained on his hand he licked with his tongue.
But too busy to see what was going on around him as the entire thing was now practically a frenzy, a fight had begun between a female vampire kid and a male vampire kid. And in one swift slash, the neck of the female vampire kid had been ripped open and the blood splashed on all the other kids around including Finn.
He suddenly stopped digging into the human as a new smell wafted into his nose. The smell of blood but not of human origin.
He used his hand to clean off the blood of the female vampire that had splashed on his face and staring at the stained bloody hand, he slowly brought it closer and closer to his mouth. And then finally he licked it with his tongue.
Immediately, his right eye contracted even more than usual giving the once round pupil a more slender look. He now had two slit eyes. One was blood red and the other was golden.
He stopped completely paying attention to the man's carcass and now his attention had shifted to the girl whose throat had suffered a laceration.
