Solka and Teva had gone up on the wood elevated platform that was structured to look like a ring. Being the two selected from their respective packs to do battle, the pressure mounted on them was undeniably immense. Yet, on one's face was a grin as wide as the sky.
Teva looked on at Solka, the ebony wolf with a look of confidence. Everyone knew him to be hotheaded and quite prideful, but the look on his face then said more.
Yet, he wasn't the only one who had a strange look on his face. Harland also bore a look, but not one of savage intent. Rather, he wore a look of disappointment.
"What's the matter with big G? Even without saying, and I don't mean to brag at this point, everyone knows I'm the red'a elementary schools strongest wolf. I don't get why he would want us to lose to these bunch!!" Harland thought as he watched the events proceed.
Solka who was initially shocked to have been chosen quickly made away with the shock and embraced the mantle that had been bestowed on him by the red elementary teacher, Gregor.
"If both alphas are ready, then let the battle begin!!!" Drew, a mammoth sized man who had been called upon to officiate the event announced in a cheerful but loud voice.
Straight away as the order was given, Teva was off from his spot. He kicked his foot from the ground and jumped straight up into the air. And while mid air, shoving his head downwards and rotating his lower half, something happened in that instant and as he landed on the ground, Teva was gone but now a new presence had arrived.
"Wow, almost an instant transformation!!! I must confess, this one has a bright future!!!" Drew remarked in amazement. The green pack elementary students nodded along in agreement with their teacher. They found what had happened to be simply amazing.
Now standing on the wooden platform was Solka and right in front of him was a huge brown furred wolf with long claws and teeth sticking out of its mouth.
"Grrrrrrr!!!" Came from the huge wolf standing in front of Solka. Taking a step back, Solka looked to analyze his situation.
Young werewolves were only capable of transforming fully unlike their adult counterparts who could control just what part they transformed. A greatly skilled and experienced wolf could transform only the parts they wished to use for whatever purpose they sought out for.
"My transformation is quite slow. There's no way he would stand there and let me transform without attacking. How did he transform so fast!!! I'm afraid in this situation, even the best of us would find it difficult to scale through" Solka thought within himself and while he had this thought, his gaze turned to stare at one person in particular who in turn had his eyes fixed on him as well, Harland, the one considered to be the best.
Teva in his wolf form stood at the height of 6ft with large broad limbs and an intimidating look and growl that came with the entire package. He sprung forth with his powerful legs aiding his movements and making it easy for him to cover half the distance the two once maintained. His target, Solka had nowhere to go other than face him head on. But even with his physically enhanced attributes that dwarfed that of a human his age or even older than him, against a werewolf who was fully transformed, there was no denying that he was greatly outmatched.
And Teva knew this which was why he seized the opportunity to try as much as possible to decapitate Solka's head with every paw swipe he took. With his long claws and muscle packed front limbs, his strikes made sounds as they travelled through the air.
*Whoosh*...
*Whoosh*
....
But strangely, none of his strikes seemed to hit the mark. Not Atleast Solka as he was able to evade them all. Yet, the standing logs that went round them in circle paid the price as each swipe sliced through them clean.
In less than a minute, the fighting platform made for these two was already being redesigned and the architect behind it was none other than Teva who was unrelenting.
"I didn't know all the red pack knew how to do was run. No matter, it would only take one strike to seal the deal. Teva will prove why he is what an alpha should be like" Lydia said to the man standing next to her, Gregor.
Gregor looked on without a word. At that moment, he was more worried about what was going on in the ring rather than exchanging words with the brown Pack's teacher.
After seeing how fruitless his attacks were, Teva stopped in his tracks and decided to change tactics a little.
With how nimble Solka was it was a real pain trying to get hold of him. Even more, he hated how Solka made him look. So he did something that most would question the wisdom in the decision as he reverted to his human form once again.
"The werewolf form gives me great strength but restricts my mobility. Since I haven't mastered the selective transformation, I can't focus some of my core attributes to certain areas like the older ones can. Nonetheless, being in this form isn't all that bad as I can do this!!!!" Teva quickly once again went in on the attack, swinging from left to right he moved around in a confusing pattern. But soon enough, there was nothing to be confused about as Solka could see what the other was up to.
The destroyed logs of wood that were lying around on the platform were now being hauled at him with great force. In a split second, a log had made its way to him and to counter the effort, he raised his hand to block it but the weight and size of the wood coupled with the force applied by Teva behind the throw forced his feet to skid across the platform and by so doing, little specks of wood were being ripped off by his feet.
Managing to regain his footing, he was ready to go on the attack seeing as this was the only chance he had. One on one against Teva without the transformation was something he fancied could be achieved.
Nonetheless, he was blindsided by another log of wood that he failed to see had accompanied the first one that was tossed at him and within seconds, he was hit square on the jaw and sent tumbling to the floor.
Groaning in pain, Solka hurried to get up but quickly found out how difficult that would turn out to be as he was smashed on the back by another piece of wood. Teva was dealing this punishment without remorse and this wasn't a guess as it was written clearly on his face where a wide grin resided.
"This doesn't look good!" Emmie turned to look at Harland and said. But the other would pay her no mind as all he did was watch on with immense concentration.
"I would have loved to do this to little Harl over there but since they sent you in, you'd have to suffice for the mean time!!!!" Teva said as he picked up Solka from the ground and began to deliver a series of fast punches to his face.
"This is too much, don't you think it's time you concede defeat on behalf of your student? He clearly isn't in a position to do that at the moment" Drew who was from the green pack said.
"No, wait" Gregor replied.
The others around him turned to look at him with a look of disbelief. It was clear to everyone that his student was being outmatched yet he asked that the match went on that way. They failed to see the hope he was clinging onto. Perhaps only him could see what Solka was brewing up ahead.
